Title: My Poem.
Post by: UncleBob on June 25, 2006, 06:49:06 PM
I have a squid.
His name is Inky.
He's very squishy.
He's very stinky.

Squids require baths on a regular basis.

I took him for a walk.
We went to the mall.
Sometime around noon.
He got stuck in the bathroom stall.

Squids need the larger handicap stalls.

We went out for Pizza
At the local `Hut
Inky got upset
And punched me in the gut.

Squids don't much care for pizza.

Back at home by nine.
It was time for bed.
I was fast asleep,
But Inky... he was dead.

Squids don't make good long-term pets.

There's something off about the second quatrain.  Either that, or the others aren't off enough.

Quite possibly the best poem about keeping squids as pets that I have ever read.

Wow.  What was I on back then and where can I get some now?

It's up there, I'll give you that. But not quite the "best".

He's claiming his kid is a squid now to hide the fact that he's a terrible parent.

2006 UncleBob > 2016 UncleBob

Edit: Maybe that sounds harsh but I found this much more funny and enjoyable than the recent Patreon exclusive post. However, that latter posting did help get rid of those stagnant stickied threads so there is some good to it.
