SM: We have a lot of leeway to do what we want with our price. We've designed the machine to be a really affordable system because we want it to be a system that anybody and everybody will want to buy, so in that sense everyone can look forward to a very affordable price for the Wii.

I hope they know the Australian definition for very affordable.

Miyamoto called the system the "Nintendo Wii". I believe Nintendo issued a statement to the press on how to use the name, placing emphasis on the fact that the system is simply called "Wii". Iwata will not be happy.

What is that called, super-crossposting?

If you noticed, Kaplan and Films Aime tend to use a lot the expression "Wii console" instead of just "wii". I think the reason is simple, saying just "wii" is hideous and even they try to avoid it.

I think it's because Wii might be confused for "we" in a conversation

Q: In your opinion, what makes a game good?

SM: Two things. Number one, the game allows the player to experience something they've never felt before, whether it's some kind of new experience in the game or new emotion. And number two, that the game be very easy to play and easy to control.

Q: Will there be a way to connect the DS to the Wii for the same game?

SM: That's something we have to think about going forward and the challenge will be what to do to games like Nintendogs and Animal Crossing and all that, so we're still looking at that and hopefully we'll be able to make some announcements in the near future.

Wii Nintendogs confirmed?

"Q: Is there a risk of games being developed for the Wii that make use of the movement controls just for the sake of it?"

YES!  I'm glad someone asked that.  I didn't care for the response Miyamoto gave but it's good to see someone bringing up that point.

I worked on the Nintendo Street Team a few years ago, and they made sure we addressed all the systems as "the Nintendo ____."  At that time, only the GBA and GC were around.

The whole reasoning was that you hammered in the idea that it was from Nintendo.

I'd assume all the bigwigs were doing that as well, but I dunno.
