Normally we would consolidate deals like this into a single thread:
Amazing Deals for DS & GBA
as most of the time these are just announcements, and there is not much to discuss.

I'm really dissappointed I didn't catch this memo before I went to the store yesterday.  I picked up a DS Lite and Big Brain Academy at Gamestop for regular price.

It seems like my system has a couple of dead pixels on it though.  Ironically, I guess the main reason I can tell is because the screens are so bright and beautiful.  I never realized but my old DS also has these little pixels but because the screen isn't nearly as bright I never noticed and it didn't affect gameplay.  Sadly, since the DS Lite's screens are so bright it makes the bad pixels so much more obvious.

How common is this?  I think there's probably one or two bad pixels on my DS Lite.  The bad pixels don't have any real color.  I'm not sure if I should try and return my system or just deal with it.   If this is common, then I may get another one that's even worse.

Although if I did return it ... I may be able to take advantage of this deal to get a free copy of Brain Age.

I bought my DS Lite on Sunday at Circuit City, but I didn't know about the deal. Has anybody gone back there and shown them the reciept and coupon for it?

EDIT: Nevermind, its not.

I know about the thread, I just figured I would make a new one because it was launch day and the more people that caught it on a glance the better. Once the coupons expire, one of the mods can lock the thread.

I had a DS Lite reserved at EB Games.  I called to ask if they would honor the deal that CC and BB were giving.  Of course they said "no".  So I bought it at Best Buy.

Mini-rant: I called ahead to EB to make sure they had Mario Kart and SMB for the DS new in stock.  When I get there they couldn't find the box for Mario Kart and wouldn't sell it to me.  I wanted to use my credits so then they said I could get it at Game Stop across town.  They tried to give me cash, but couldn't figure out how.  Then they put it on a gift card, but then they realized that Game Stop couldn't take the card.  Grrrrr.  I really try to give the "little guy" the business but when they won't honor competitor's promotions and generally make hassles for me by not being customer-focused, it rubs me the wrong way.  :-(

Well, it's not the "little guy" (although I tend to not think of EBGames and GameStop as little guys), but Wal-Mart.com is running the same promotion.  Sounds like something NoA is pushing...

I was so proud of my waiting to purchase the DS Lite...that I was at Target first and bought 3 games along with it.  Now that I see this thread...I'm not too happy...but I'll get over it.

Nintendo has a zero tolerence policy on dead pixels.  Return it to the store and swap it out for another one.  Don't worry about getting one with even more dead pixels because you are allowed to swap them out over and over again until you get one that's 100% perfect.  If the store gives you any grief about it, just call up Nintendo directly and they'll send you a new one and have you send them your old one.
