Title: Miyamoto vs Spielberg
Post by: capamerica on May 15, 2006, 10:36:57 AM

Shigeru Miyamoto, left, legendary video game designer for Nintendo, known as the Spielberg of video games, having created Mario and the Legend of Zelda, plays Tennis with Steven Spielberg on Nintendo's new game console called Wii, using the controller as the racket to physically hit the virtual ball, while attending the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles on Friday, May 12, 2006. I can't think of a more fitting combo, though I prefer Miyamoto's work.

In my happiest dreams, I see Miyamoto and Tim Schafer working together on a glorious game. Can there be any doubt? It is released and universally recognized as the best game to ever exist, past, present or future.

What is it about Japanese middle-aged men in that they don't look stupid in a T-shirt?  White guys over 40 always look like dorks when they dress like that.

And I just realized that Spielburg looks a lot like a teacher I had in college.

These pics are awesome, at any rate.  Speilberg looks genuinely pleased with the game, and for some reason I always love pictures of Miyamoto.  He's always so happy.

So happy.

Oh.  Well then I guess he's a lazy SOB who never marks assignments and thus gives his students no indication of how well they're doing.  You hear that, Spielburg!  Get your lazy ass off your goat farm and mark my assignment you dick!

Hahaha, I still can't get over the expressions Spielberg has...The expressions people have while playing Wii are just perfect...

Hahaha, love this picture.  Spielberg seems pleased, and Miyamoto's expression is priceless.

The man in pink in the background also has a humourous expression. Also he's wearing PINK!

No hairy arms with grey hair.

Although I tend to think calling Miyamoto the Spielberg of videogames is a huge insult to Miyamoto, this is a cool little publicity stunt.

He should change his name - it shouldn't be Mi-yamoto, it should be Wii-yamoto
