Title: Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Revealed
Post by: StrikerObi on May 12, 2006, 05:53:00 AM
The little buggers are back!

Nintendo has finally pulled the lid off of the newest games in their amazingly popular Pokémon series of games. The two new games, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, have been revealed, as always, in the latest issue of CoroCoro Comics.  The game looks like a traditional Pokémon game. The overworld, though it is now rendered in 3D, looks almost identical to the overworlds in prior Pokémon games. Battles are entirely two-dimensional. The game is scheduled for an "autumn" release in Japan. Online modes are not mentioned in the CoroCoro Comics article.

Thanks to Jonnyram on GAF for the tip.

Those scans are all that is out there.  There hasn't been any official media sent out.

Interestingly enough, this announcment had nothing to do with E3.

Sigh... I'm probably the biggest Pokemon fan on this board, but it just looks like the "same old, same old". I'm really hoping they give the battle system a much needed kick in the pants.

I'm a huge pokemon fan too Josh.  I suggest looking forward to the Myster Dungeon DS game.  It is definately something different and it seemed like a lot of fun at the show even though it was a short demo.  Check out Svevan's impressions of the game.
