Quote Sonic Wild Fire stars the Blue dude with the 'tude on his first solo adventure since the original Sonic The Hedgehog™ in 1991.
Yes! No crappy Robotnik levels or whatever.
Quote Gamers will use the Wii controller to steer Sonic and experience an untapped freedom in gameplay and control. Hold the controller horizontally with two hands and tilt left and right to steer Sonic on different paths and maneuver deftly from obstacles and enemies. Continue to tilt and fling forward to dash-attack ground and air enemies and to break down barriers.
Sounds good!
Though I still don't know how I feel about the Wii getting what looks like nothing but exclusive games. Can't we get some ports too?

Wandering, im the same boat, I mean did anyone really expect all these exclusive titles? Im happy about this, but if its control isn't spot on, and/or the stages aren't made so that you keep on running/moving like crazy then I will be pissed.

What's this "steer Sonic on different paths" business? Tell me this isn't a racing game.

I'm kind of thinking/hoping the game is like one long Sonic Adventure 2 sonic level.

Quote The vibrant environments provide for a refreshingly new look to the franchise filled with brightly colored mosaic tiles, glistening oases, swaying palm trees, and crumbling stone columns.
That's the best thing i've ever heard in my entire life.
PLEASE don't turn out crappy!

Dear God, that means no Shadow the Hedgehog? This game is already better then the PS3 Xbox 360 one!
There is a lot of potential here, both very good and very bad.

When I read the title and the Arabian nights thing I pictured some horrible Sonic spin-off. Pictured Sonic running around with a Wii-controlled firehose dressed as a sultan. But if anything this sounds like it might be the most traditional Sonic title in years even if it does have a kind of warped story. It says the game is controller by tilting the controller left and right. Seems obvious it's a 2D title. Basically tilting the controller left and right to move in those directions and flinging it in those directions to do a spin-attack. Of course the classic Sonic gameplay will only require a single button for jumping. So the Wii-mote is PERFECT. It would certainly take some getting used to but it could offer a kind of precision like never before. You could have Sonic run at all kind of different speeds and the spin-attack would be more more reaction based. The story does sound whack but hopefully the GAMEPLAY will be the focus here. Like it was in Sonic Rush which also had a whack story. The mini-games sound great too especially with multiplayer which is obviously something Nintendo is going to push hard. It has to justify the name anyway.
ON ANOTHER NOTE. The sad thing is this is the type of game that could now be ported to the PS3 if it indeed only requires tilting of the controller. But most of the mini-games are probably bound to the Wii.

Paladin: Sonic always had branching paths and "steer" is the best term (maybe second to "pray") for what you can do when Sonic is at top speed.

"The old camera woes of Sonic Adventure (and even the recent Shadow the Hedgehog) seem to be a thing of the past at long last." Yay!
"We tried to tilt the freehand controller to change Sonic?s trajectory as one would tilt a control stick; that is, a small tilt should cause Sonic to only slightly veer from his path, while a larger tilt would cause him to move off course at a larger angle from the point of origin. Instead the freehand seems to only register whether or not any tilt is currently in play. Tilting the freehand a little or a lot causes Sonic to race off to the edge of the screen and we were unable to tweak Sonic?s path in order to collect some items." Not-so-yay.

IGN's impressions are EXTREMELY glowing. They seem to think this is one of the most complete and impressive demos at E3.

Hmmmm everyone that has played it seems to think its impressive. I may have to take Sonic games off my sh*t list now. I am glad, I liked Sonic a lot and if Eidos can turn around the Tomb Raider franchise then Sonic can be redeemed as well.

IGN goes on to say Sonic looks outstanding, possibly the best of the Wii titles. Good news indeed.

I think this is seriously going to be the best console Sonic title since S&K. The developers were brilliant. They saw that 3D Sonic titles just weren't working. So they made a different kind of 3D Sonic title with all-linear 2D style gameplay. No more having to mess with the camera or awkward exploring. Just pure Sonic fun. The way it should be.
The new trailer definitly has me hyped for it. Especially at the end when that HUGE (censored for spoilage) appears.

It is new because, if I recall correctly, the movement you have in the game is somewhat limited. It is not free range like Sonic Adventure. More or less you are on a track and you are more or less in control of two dimensions at a time, rather than 3. So it will kind of play like the old Sonics but with a faux 3D environment, somewhat like Klonoa 2 if you have ever played that.

Basically, it is a lot like the Sonic/Shadow stages in Sonic Adventure and its sequel. They were by far the best parts (arguably the only good parts) of the games. Unfortunately they were only a small portion of the game. This game basically takes what worked in Sonic Adventure and makes it the basis for the entire game. Smart move, Sega.

Why is this Sonic promising?
Cuz it's F-Zero, not Sonic-jump-and-slowdown-in-awkward-angle-while-most-of-the-super-fast-movement-controls-itself.

Nothing Sega has showed so far is even remotely interesting to me. I was not interested in the 3D Sonic Adventures at all. They controlled horrible, and even the Sonic/Shadow stages everyone loves were boring to me.
Cool effects and speed only last so long before the experience becomes stale. Personally, I am glad that I don't have to worry about this game, I can move on to others.

What makes this game look promising is that it's Sonic with no bull**** (at least none of which we've seen)...A game that is made of purely Sonic's stages from the Adventure games is enough to make me pray for a good game...
