That's an old classic rumor.  Why would they hide a lens under the little door on the front of the unit?

Look up the cost of a projector, and then explain to me how Nintendo would sell a $2000 console.

And how they could fit a lamp into the casing.  I swear some people just don't think before they come up with these stories.

"LBO has developed unique laser-based projection technology, which uses computational algorithms and novel optical techniques to allow miniature lasers to display video images in real-time using the diffractive nature of laser light. This overcomes the size limitation of conventional projection techniques, allowing projectors to be smaller than ever before. Understand that there is no glass, no prisms, NO MOVING PARTS, and no need for fans to provide heat dissipation. In addition, it runs on less than 1.5W at full power and less than 350mW while displaying typical video images (50% average pixel amplitude. There is also an infinite focus, meaning that no matter how close or far away, there are no optics to adjust for a clear picture."

Point is, using this tech, size isnt an issue, it does not list a price for the mini projector, but they have an example where it is used in a cell phone.

Anyway, As for 3D with a projector, very highly unlikley, and I dont see it happening.

Should nintendo prove me wrong, it would be kind of cool, other than the annoyance of having to set up a special screen.  It would be kind of like the touch screen on the DS, cool and useful for some games, but it would not be necessary to use in all games.

Uh, wouldn't Time have noticed that?
