Title: Capcom and RE
Post by: camaroman on February 26, 2003, 05:38:42 PM
Is Capcom still keepin the RE series exclusive to the GC? I seen Resident Evil 2 and it didnt have the "ONLY FOR" in the top corner of the case. Just kinda wonderin.

Yes, it's still exclusive to GameCube. The thing is that Resident Evil 2, 3, and Code Veronica have already been on plenty of systems before GameCube, so they can't put that sign on it. Resident Evil 1 was a different story entirely, as the game was vastly modified for the GameCube release.
Do I know you from Star Kingdoms btw?

Resident Evil 2, 3, and Code Veronica have been on every console since their release besides xbox. and the cube is finally getting some of the Resident Evil 2, 3, and Code Veronica love.

If you are at the part where I think you are you have to run back into the room with the fireplace in it. Then kill it.

if youre shooting a zombie so many times, youre making a mistake. when you see a zombie, pop off 3-5 pistol shots. that should be enough to drop them. if not, fire more, slowly, since you dont want to waste bullets. when the fall, try to auto target the zombie. if youre character does so, its not dead yet. go and pop one more cap in the splayed zombie, then back up and wait for it to stand up. repeat till it dies for good.
no zombie should take more than 10 bullets, max. 'cept for crimson heads, of course

Herm, run around it. Or if you can't and have defence items run into them, zombies aren't that serious. Wait till alter on

yeah i kinda figured it out now, damn maybe im playing this game wrong, buts it really hard and theres many zombies i have to leave alive but thats maybe the point of the game, running
anyway, so far im quite satisfied, controls are crappy, atmosphere and graphics are awesome very worth the 20bucks
ive wasted all my save thingies, is that bad or do they come quite frequently, ive read a bit of a walkthrough and there they made it seem as if everything in the game had to be done perfectly, in which case i will restart the game, or isnt it quite so bad on easy?

I thought they were making a re online game for ps2 or something? If so than it can't be exclusive to gcn?

The main series is exclusive to GCN. The spin-off titles like that online title are not part of the deal.

Technically the deal extends to Resident Evil 4 only, but I don't doubt Capcom will renew it afterwards.

It was Shinji Mikami, the series creator, who pushed Capcom to let him make his series exclusively for the GameCube, since he realized that the PS2 was a piece of crap. Albeit a great selling one, which a lot of people (including Mikami) have made good games for.
His bosses went along with the idea, but they decided that they would make RE Online and some other "spin-offs" exclusively for the PS2, without any input from Mikami, in order to keep Sony from getting upset with them (since Sony's practically a dictator right now).
