You know those obnoxious jerks that have a doctorate and insist on being called "doctor" in all sitations even if outside of their workplace that distinction makes no sense? That would be me if I was knighted. "That's SIR Ian Sane to you!" Except with this one guy I know who owns an orchard and is in fact a doctor but never refers to himself as such and insists on being called "Mr." That guy's cool so I would never make him call me Sir Ian.
Though personally I'd rather be a Captain though I would always so "Cap'n". Then I could talk like a pirate and tell people to have "all hands on starboard" and cool sh!t like that.
