Title: I Wish I Were A Jedi
Post by: Pryopizm on February 26, 2006, 11:15:34 AM
I'm serious.  I'm addicted to the thought of becoming a Jedi nearly to the point of madness.  I used to wish for the same thing every time I made a wish:  1 Billion Dollars.  But now, that's changed.  My wish is now to be able to use the Force and wield a lightsabre.

To become Jedi Master Stan.

I gave up that dream when I saw how easily they died in Episode II.

Extras + lightsabers just doesn't = Jedi.

That was totally cheap.  Also the fight scene between Windu and Palpatine.  All they had to do was force push the punk while he was doing his little twirls in the air.

Agreed, and don't get me started about Yoda's fight with Count Chocula...I mean Dooku at the end of EpII.

Is it me, or did Dooku just walk out of there unscathed? It just seemed like Yoda was trying hard but he just dropped the pillar and walked to his ship. I would have been happier if Yoda had force pushed him, broken his lightsaber, cut off his arm, etc. SOMETHING to show Dooku that he was his superior. What harm could it have done? Dooku was a throwaway character and dies midway through the intro of the next movie.

At least Yoda was redeemed in EpIII when he went toe to toe with the emperor.

the point Lucas was making was that teh emporer ws so much more powerfull than Yoda, which was the reason why he went into hiding. The fight betweenm him and dooku was to show that Yoda was very powerful but Dooku was his EQUAL, to set up that Dokus master was SUPERIOR. I thought it was brilliant. I have already watched teh entireseries all the way throuigh as 1 long movie like Lucas commands, I mean reccomends, and he is rigth it did fall togetehr perfectly, he did a lto better job than a lot of people give him credit for. Also I loved thatf irst clone wars abttle in Ep II because seeing Jedi die liek that added realism to the series and showed that the tieds were turning. Same with Ep III when the Empire first took over.

So when Luke asks Leia if she has any memories of her real mother and she says she remembers her being loving and kind, you didn't think, "Duh Guh Fuh Buh What?"

I think if I wielded a lightsaber, I would end up cutting off my arm.

Thing is, Yoda flung the emperor into a wall at least once. He never so much as scratched Dooku.

I'm not much of a Starwars fan so I guess I can't really argue this seriously, it just looked like Yoda did better against the emperor than he did Dooku.

If I were a Jedi I'd use force push in different directions on the upper and lower torso of my enemy.

I refuse to acknowledge the prequels as canon.

Boba Fett is not a clone, his name is Jaster Mareel.

Stormtroopers are NOT clones, and Yoda does not bounce around like a monkey when he gets into a lightsaber duel.

STUPID LUCAS.

Also, HAN SHOT FIRST.

Yeah, I wanted to be a jedi too, until I saw how they're all a bunch of whiny, emo losers that cry when they think they killed their girlfriends out of false jealousy.

Now I want to be an elf. With a bow and arrow. And a dwarf as a friend. And our relationship will mostly be comic relief.

I wish I was a little bit taller
I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
And a six four Impala

As if any dwarf would REALLY be friends with an elf.

I mean...they're pansies.  Come on.

Screw being a Jedi or a Sith. I'll be my own thing. I'll fight on the side of good but don't call me a lame ass Jedi, the Jedi are just as corrupted and evil as the Sith, They just do it a different way and make everyone believe that they are the good guys.

And damn it Yoda got his ass kicked cause you were all under the false ideas that he was the best, I mean If he was the best he would have fought to the end and not run away and hide like a child who go beat up by the school bully. Master my butt.

TMW you should play StarWars Battlefront II they actually clear up the whole deal with Clones as Stormtroopers, It also does a Great job connecting the 2 trilogies.

I recommend you Jedi fans listen to 'A different Point of View' and stop worshiping your false idols and the Terrorists organization known as the Rebel Alliance.

Should be noted that I was thinking the way I do before I started listening to 'A different Point of View'. Infact I was really happy when I first heard it cause finally I found someone who shared my views.

Oh and one last thing
Jedi Mind Trick = Rape, They freaken Rape your mind. How low is that.

I like "Different Point of View".

Change "rebels" to "Taliban" and it sounds just like most of the news broadcasts we hear these days.

And that gif friggin' RULES.

Ahhh...but Cap, I consider Battlefront II to be a part of the EVIL CANON that is the prequels.

I prefer to take the Original Trilogy by themselves, possibly with a little EU thrown in.

but Pryorsm, she NEVER SAID that, her exact word were as follows,

Luke: DO you remeber your mother, your REAL mother
Leia: images, just feelinsg really, she was kind but sad, very sad.

So ok yeah its hard to beleive that she could remeber her but not luke, but thats a very minor flaw.

I ama HUGE Star Wars fan and YES it ticked meoff when i first saw Episode 1 and there was so much going on that wasn't how i expected it, but after wathcing 2, 3 and then the otehrs together, they blend together a lot better than you would expect sondiering the time span and how old lucas is now compared to how old he was then. I hear fans of the original trilogy diss the prequels over minor issues, yes I agree sometimes the minor flaws do hurt the story, but the movies are still good and they still fit togetehr enough to dismiss most of the little erros, I mena cuz even the original trilogy is filled with flaws so you cant hold it at a higher pedatal than the prequels because according to lucas they are meant to be viewed as one 12 hour movie and when you watch it as such everything fits togteher nicely enough to dismiss a couple minor errors.

And somebody needs to rewatch episode 3 Yoda NEVER flings Palpatine ever, he deflects him but if you watch the entire sequence in relation to the darth tyranous scene you see that in the fight against tyranous he is basicaly matched and its a stale mate. When he flings force lighting at Yoda he absorbs it with no trouble at all then deflects it without even flintching.

Now fast forward to Yoda vs Palpatine and see that yoda is FLUNG against the wall witha  powerfull force blast and doesnt even get up right away, THAT was setting up how much more powerful Palpy is over yoda. Then watch how easily emporer flings the senate chairs at Yoda while Yoda struggles to deflect adn dodge them. YOu can clearly see Yoda is panting and struggling while Palpatine is laughing and not putitng in hardly any effort at all. You have to take it all together to see the genious that Lucas really is, if you see the subtle things he does to set things up you start to realize that he was focusing on the big picture and may not have been able to bother with tiny little detials that dont affect the out come at all.

Lucas rewrote history.  Leia never told Luke that she remembered her mom.  Just like Obi-Wan never told Luke that he was trained by Yoda.  Get with the program.

It's hard to be a die-hard Star Wars fan when the "canon" contradicts itself.  As far as I'm concerned, Ep I-III are glorified Fan-Fic.

Technically Yoda did, as he teaches all of the Jedi when they are children, which would have included Obi-Wan.
