She lost her son in Iraq, so she set up camp outside of bush's ranch, and ended up getting a lot of publicity, and followers. She now is a big part of the protests against the president. I dont think she is a crazy nut-loon, but your opinion of her really centers on what you think of bush, and the war.
Edit: Do have to admit, the resemblance above is uncanny

Well, not to get into politics, but I think Bush is a moron and I was never too keen on the war to begin with (not that I think Saddam should be in power, but...)
However, either way you cut it, Cindy is a crazy nut-loon.

I'm always mystified when mother's get indignant about their sons dying in war. I mean, of course it's got to suck, but they're in the army. Seriously, did you think they just played with candy and bunny farts all day? I guess what I'm saying is protest because of your beliefs, not because someone died during wartime.

and which tv station you watch for news. I'd say more, but.... SERIOUS DISCUSSION.

Cindy Sheehan is a traitor to the memory of her son. She can't deal with the fact that her son signed up for the military, something no one forced him to do, something he obviously wanted to do. She can't deal with the fact that he had pride for his country, enough to sign up for the military, with a risk of going into a war zone. Cindy Sheehan has done nothing but disparage his memory by turning his death into something about her. She wants attention, she want's the spot light. She doesn't give a damn about what her son did for this country, just that she can't deal with the fact that he died doing something he signed up for.
And don't give me any crap about he didn't sign up to die. You sign up for the military, you face the risk that you are signing up for a job that is going to put you in a war whether you planned on that or not. He did what he felt was right, and Cindy Sheehan just doesn't care enough for the sacrifice he made, because she's a selfish, greedy person.

If I had to pick a variety of fart to play with, bunny farts would be the one I'd pick.

woah, nitsu, lets try to keep the politics off of the forums, especially in the funhouse, politics dont really belong here (except when discussing Sheehans uncanny resemblance to all those people at the same time) If you absolutely have to say something, at least keep it to fact, like I did when explaining to TvMan's who cindy sheehan was. ok I did say that I didnt think she is a "crazy nut loon" but thats not saying much.
Wandering: As for your opinion depending on the tv stations, I try to get information elsewhere, those news stations turn you into zombies, roaming the streets in search of human brains. The stations then do more stupid reports on the brain eating to make more Zombies (what a vicious cycle)

It is a fact that she is a selfish, greedy, conceited person. It's a fact her son died doing something he signed up for. It's a fact that she has turned his death into something about her. It's a fact that she can't honor his sacrifice.
It's not political, I never went into politics.

I think it's what he died for which is the issue here.
If my son died defending the freedom of our country, like against Hitler's regime or against Bin Laden's Taliban fighters, it means his death went to protecting the lives of others, including Americans.
In this case, the kid died so Hali-Burton could plunder billions in oil from Iraq and then mysteriously "lose" the records as to how much oil was taken.
I don't know anything about her or why she does what she does (it might be personal motivation), but if I lost a son under similar circumstances, I doubt I'd have a scrap of sanity left to call my own. If you really want to discuss it, send me a PM.
And yes, when they cut down the ugly tree, it fell on her.

well, if you cant beat um, join um (untill the thread gets closed anyway).
I agree with Smash brother, Cindy Sheehan is not discracing the memory of her son. I think she is not protesting because of the fact that her son died, its the reason he died. Sheehan feels (along with a majority of americans) that we screwed up going into Iraq, that we were tricked by our president into believing that saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Our troops are not dead because of a fight for our country, or our freedom, there is no acceptable reason why we are over there in a war that there is a good chance we cannot win.
Yes, Sheehan's son died over there in iraq during wartime, fighting "for our country" in something that he signed up for, the same as all of the troops that are over there. It would be understandable if her son died for freedom, or to protect our country, but that is not the case. That is why our soldiers are dieing without just cause, and that is why Sheehan is protesting.
When you sign up for the army (before the war started) you sign up with the understanding that you will only be sent to war as a last resort. This war has proven that false

Well, actually, I don't remember the sequel that well.
Oh, I might as well respond to nitsu while I'm here, SERIOUS DISCUSSION behind spoilers:

It's not political, I never went into politics.
Was Gandhi greedy for turning people's suffering into something that was 'about him'? Was Martin Luther King? (not saying Sheehan is comparable to those two) Are people who haven't been affected by the Iraq war the only ones who are allowed to protest it?
No, you don't bring up politics, but I wish you had. Instead of attacking the opinion, you're attacking the opinionee... which isn't, in my view, the best way to go about things.

Do you know Cindy Sheehan has talked about running for senate in Calf? No joke. I hope she ready, b/c the media will give an anal exam of hentai proportions.
