Title: What will be at E3?
Post by: FM on February 23, 2003, 07:15:39 PM
I'm thinking we'll see more of Pikmin 2, the new Kirby title and a lot more of Mario Kart, as well as (hopefully) some online games.

Mario Kart, Pokemon, and Pikmin 2 are almost guaranteed.
There will probably be something new from Square-Enix, there might be that long lost Konami support everyone has been bitching about, and Nintendo will probably have some 1st and 2nd party RPGs to show off.

Miyamoto's next big Mario project is at the top of my list, but right next to that is Mario Kart [Online of Offline--I don't care] and a brand spanking new franchise from Nintendo. I really think they've got something waiting in the wings. I made a cup of tea this morning, and I read it in the leaves.
The leaves.............they.........never.....lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok... what will be at E3?
Rogue Squadron 3 Mario Kart Mario 128 FF:CC F-Zero StarFox Armada Metal Gear Solid GC Possibly a trailer for Resident Evil 4 Soul Calibur 2 (USA vers.) Virtua Fighter Quest (hopefully no superdeformed characters like VF Kids) Viewtiful Joe Killer 7 Dead Phoenix P.N.03 ...
That's all I can think of off the top of my head... there are sure to be some surprises that none of us can fathom as of yet. Just wish it would come sooner.

Last year, didn't Miyamoto say this would be the year of original titles? Almost all the games listed on the E3 list from Nintendo are part of existing franchises. So my guess is these original titles will be the big surprise at E3. I doubt we'll see Mario 128 or any other big franchise titles not already listed though.

The Silicon Knights game is going to be the one I pay most attention to at the show.

I don't know, but we should be able to see some of it live as it happens. On Nintendo's E3 site, it mentions web cams . As if I didn't already have enough to do that week with finals. AARGHH!

I don't care, as long as Nintendo has good quality direct feeds of their games. And when there's the pre-E3 conference, I just want to hear the loud, crazy, applause ad fan-boyish cheers when Miyamoto-san steps out and unveils all the games.

No one is really paying attention to it, but Kirby's Air Ride looks very promising. HAL Laboratories is very good (SSB:M and Kirby64), and the concept of doing Kirby powers while racing seems very cool.

Actually, Hostile Creation, IGN has been saying that, from what they've seen, they would rather if this game was not showed at all. Simply because of it's lack of promise at this point. I want to have confidence in the game, but my mind keeps reminding itself of the single button and analog stick control...
