Title: who hates friend codes
Post by: norebonomis on January 17, 2006, 07:59:02 PM
yes i understand nintendo doesnt want kids to be picked up by pervs
but really these 'friend codes' just miss the mark.

if anyone has ever checked out There.com, i would always hoped of something like it comming to a home console, it would work nice with revolution's controller.

all nintendo would have to do is provide a way for age verification at account registration, so the kids could be seperated from the grown-ups. (grown up kid in my case but i'm allowed to look at tits and blood and talk about my genitals)

friend codes are lame....

I have no problem with friend codes. I just wish there was some way to add friends over the internet.

I have no problem whatsoever with friend codes.  My problem is in not having friends.

They are pretty annoying, i still have yet to play anyone from PGC at Mario Kart, and have pretty much quit trying.  However in Animal Crossing i've seen a few, but i've only visited one other town.  Nintendo should make it a bit more simple.

If Metroid Prime Hunters requires Friend Codes im gonna scream!  I wish we could just automatically see servers and just join up like pc games do.

I would assume he means more like battle.net, where you chose from a selection of games already up. Personally, I thought the Mario Kart manner of doing things was fine, but I do wish it would find players for the games a little quicker then it does.

My main problem with friend codes is that it limits the number of friends you can have.  It doesn't bother me much in Animal Crossing, but in Mario Kart, I want to play against as many people as possible.

Perhaps this is a stupid answer, but if you want the maximum number of people to play against, just go to the Worldwide connection room. Some times I just want to play against only my friends, i.e. Friends connection room. Muddeling it up with random people from from a list on a website rather defeats that purpose if you ask me.

Sure, but random people from a list on my website is a little different.  I'm somewhat familiar with the people here.  And we can come back and smack talk too.

Plus you can boot disconnectors from your list so you won't play with them, which are impossible to avoid in regular matches...

I hate the whole finding players thing
in the time it takes to find 5,000+ servers on battlefield 2, you could find 1 or 2 ppl on mario kart if lucky
its a joke
