Title: Monkey Island 3 on the DS!

   Though admitedly it is not officially confirmed by Lucas Arts,  it is a strong rumor that Monkey Island 3 will be heading to the DS. REJOICE!

Also, for you Monkey Island fans I made a new thread inside the 'Technical Discussion' concerning DS Homebrew and more specifically the fact that all of Lucas Arts adventure games that ran on the SCUMM engine (Day of the Tentacle, Curse of Monkey Island, etc.) can now be played on your DS! Check it out.

If only Lucas Arts would release Maniac Mansion, that game is a perfect fit for the DS.

Lucas Arts says adventures don't sell anymore and they're going to make more Star Wars cash-ins instead. Let's hope Telltale games gets their act together (preferrably BEFORE Sam & Max is released) and gets some good games out there.

Maybe the comparative success of Phoenix Wright will change their minds about how well adventure games can sell.

The PC market may have "moved on", but a touch-screen portable would be perfect for a compilation release, or some new original titles.

I thought the second Sam & Max game got killed off shortly before its release?  Or has it been given anoher chance?

After that cancellation, and the killed-off Full Throttle sequel (it didn't look that good, though), and Monkey Island 5 up in the air, I've been annoyed with LucasArts.  I like Star Wars games but there seriously are too many of those now.

Maniac Mansion 3 and Grim Fandango 2 would be sweet, too, but those seem unlikely.

Though I heard telltale wants to do the game in parts, so you have to buy each part of the game seperately or something.

If that's true count me out.

Too bad Phoenix Wright didn't sell very well at all. =(
