Just another case of superior artdirection overtaking superior technical features, makes me want Nintendo's next cel-shaded game even more...gaaah!

More like the video footage looked bland. And is that the tri linear motion battle system? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? GAH! Everyone hates tri-linear. Everyone.

I swear, a lot of these new DS games (I'm looking at you Final Fantasy) look a hell lot better than the stuff I've seen on the PSP. This is coming from an owner of both systems.

My, my.... Impressive. I just bought Symphonia the other day, and I've fallen in love. I can't wait to have this guy in my hands. (Well, this and Tales of Phantasia Advance, that is.)

the video looked great except for the world map view, but then again Symphonia's world map view was identical. The battle scenes seems like they could use a bit of polish though. Besides all that this looks amazing for a game that is just announced. By the way when will we be getting Tales of Phantasia for GBA? I just saw an article of it in Nintendo Power but no date.....well atleast it just goes out to further cement the fact that Tales of Phantasia is coming to the states!

Well it WAS set for March, so I don't know if that still holds true or not...
I'm hoping the Tales team puts a load of effort into this one, and they better give us a Rev game too! >=|

I was thinking about the arcade game. I really don't like the way this game looks at all. and the combat looks totally unfun

I have been following Contact for awhile, and indeed the settings and backgrounds do look gorgeous, but the character sprites look meh to me. I personally cant wait for Lost Magic. Studio Ghibli is designing all of the characters and doing animated cutscenes.

What is this!? I've never even heard of Contact, and you'd think it'd be big news considering it's online.

I suppose just about everything announced on "WiFi Wednesday" onwards is considered second-gen DS games. They all definitely look the part.

Surprisingly enough, I just found out that the Tales Studio, who did pretty much every other Tales game including Symphonia, did not develop Tempest. It was outsourced to Dimps, who also took care of Sonic Rush for SEGA.
The videos of over a year ago still look amazing, and it's no doubt pushing the DS. I'm a bit more wary now, though, since Dimps doesn't have any prior experience with the franchise. I loved Rush, but they had been doing the Sonic GBA games for a while before, so I don't know how well they handled a Tales game.
Of course, if it doesn't come out here, this is irrelevant.

This game lost me at "1 Player".
The only reason to play Symphonia, for me anyway, was the multiplayer combat. To be fair, that might just be because once you and a friend have mastered your technique of raw-combo slaughtering bosses (even the last one), every other aspect just seems dull by comparison.
