Title: So whatever happened to Katamari Damacy DS?

I know that they showed off Katamari Damacy for PSP at TGS. But I specifically remember Namco announced a DS version, and then also announced a PSP version a few days later... Anybody know if Namco's abandoned the project to adjust focus to the PSP version, or if it just wasn't ready to show off at TGS?

The fact that they haven't said anything worries me.  The PSP release coming first makes sense because I'm sure it is a very similar engine that didn't take near as much work as a new engine on the DS would...  I dunno... I just have a feeling a cost-benefit analysis of some sort cancelled the game.

I agree. I think it just got cancelled and they just haven't told us yet, or maybe it's still in developement and it will come out later than the PSP version, to sparkle Japanesse sales of the PSP.

Sony money hats?

Was the game ever officially announced?  I thought it was just a rumor.

Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume it's never existed.  (Which isn't to say it will never exist.)

Not official, but I can't see why else Nintendo Power would mention a game that was originally for another system if they didn't get news that it was going to be on a Nintendo system.

Er...I highly doubt it was a misprint, that's not something you put in a magazine on accident when there's absolutely no evidence to back it up.

Or the idea got dropped because the DS couldn't handle enough objects.

Somehow I think they would have at least done a proof of concept before semi-announcing the game.

Best case scenario is that the game is so far off, they don't feel like sharing any more for now.  I hope that's the case.

Couldn't the GBA slot be used for any nessasary(sp?) expansions to the DS?
