Quote “Mario is the game that will show off the Revolution better than anything else in development right now,” a trusted and highly-placed source told SPOnG today. “You have to remember that the Revolution will take standard GameCube controller input and this is not solely for GC backward compatibility and retro gaming. The Revolution controller concept is merely an option for developers, something totally new, as was the Nintendo DS.”

Interesting. Spong seems to be hinting that the Revolution Controller will be very unique and possibly not capable of playing older games.
I don't know how reliable that site is...but I am curious.
I don't think the Revolution Controller has to be completely compatable with traditional game types since the Cube controller is available...but forcing 2 controller types will split the Revolution market, so I KNOW Nintendo is going to do something that stupid.

Going to or NOT going to?
Anyways, Spong isn't reliable at all...

Basically what spong does is do their best to predict what is going to happen. Then they post it as fact.
It's like playing the lottery where the prize is fake credibility.

Well, at least that means Spong realizes it has nothing to lose. Turns out to be fake? Oh well, it's Spong. Turns out to be true? HOW DID THEY KNOW?

Not to say that Spong is always right, but they DID hit the Zelda trailer at GDC bit, and NOONE was expecting that, period...(If you say you were, you are a bloody liar)
And I don't believe it's implied that the Rev controller will be different from the GC controller...The button layout could be identical to that of the GC, with the added bonuses of the Rev interface...So it's like the DS: developers have a range of options to choose from (a la touch screen, dual screens, and mic) but they don't have to use them if they don't want to...

Spong also predicted that a new version of the GBA would be shown at E3, and no one expectd that. I still think it was blind luck though.

If spong are wrong about this I can officially label them the worst site on the internet.
PGC Forum User Mario: Controller, Wario Ware Rev, and other software to be shown Friday. Iwata will eat a pickle on stage.

Well what the site means is just like you don't have to take advantage of the touchscreen on the DS you don't have to use the new tech on the GC controller. Gryos would be an example of something you don't have to use if it was built into anormal controller.
