This actually looks pretty good! I might pick this up if I feel like a racer for DS that isn't Mario Kart.

It looks good but I think the car models need to be improved a bit if possible, hopefully this will have a WiFi mode as well. I wonder what the touch screen features will be and hopefully be something more than a obligatory map and a car damage indicator. Other than that I hope the frame rate will be smooth and EA will get rid of those horrible crash noises that plagued other racers on the DS.

Bill: I agree that Motion Blur is annoying. Images in racers already move fast enough to create speed...Motion Blur doesn't make if feel faster. It makes it appear muddy...and well blurred.
Other than that, the engine looks really nice, and there is some great detail. Something tells me though it won't run at a great framerate.
Perhaps that is why the motion blur exists.

I would point out to this, but I'm too lazy... (oh wait)
Anyway, like everyone else, I'm just waiting to see the framerate. If it is steady I might consider it. When is it coming out again?

I'm going to agree with the consensus that it looks pretty good and hopefully will look just as good in motion.
I'm perfectly fine with a less pretty version of the PSP game if it means it's cheaper and I don't have to get a PSP.

I saw that Burnout Legends for PSP is selling for $50. My jaw nearly hit the floor. Is this the first $50 game for PSP? That just seems insane.

$50 for a portable game? Where did you see this?
It is indeed crazy.

I was wrong. I just took a closer look and it looks like there are tons of PSP games for $50. Midnight Club 3, Spider-Man 2, THUG 2 Remix, MVP Baseball, NBA Street Showdown, NFL Street 2 Unleashed are all $50. Future games for $50 include SSX On Tour, Madden NFL 06 and Tiger Woods 2006, Star Wars Battlefront 2, GTA:LCS, X-Men Legends 2, Sims 2 and MG Acid 2.

well, it would suck for them..... if they bought the PSP to play PSP games.

I thought it was pretty much well known fact by now that a majority of third party titles on PSP were going for $50 a shot. The only $40 titles were either budget ports, (Darkstalkers Chronicles) smaller games (Lumines) or first party titles. So basically when Burnout Legends and GTALCS come out they're gonna be $50. This was one of the reasons I've left the handheld alone all this time, even during it's "great" launch.

ALL of EA's PSP games are $50 in America. =p But anyway, Burnout Legends is looking pretty rad, yeah. I hope the frame rate is solid and they leave out EA Trax.

I hope they leave out the rubber banding, Burnout shouldn't be "dodge the obstacles".

Eh, I just saw the trailer...what the hell? This game comes out in six freaking days? And apparently it's online? (WiFi is mentioned in the trailer)

Yeah I saw that too, but I think they mean wifi as in multiplayer wireless. Nintendo needs to use better termanology for all of this. They have been saying Wifi since when the Nintendo Ds came out meaning wireless play, and WifiConnection as in the online service. The release date tho came as in a big shocker, I don't know whats goin on with this game....

I love Burnout. I was disappointed when 3 & 4 never made it to the 'Cube. Legends looks good on the PSP and I was really anticipating the DS version. The screenshots didn't look too bad...but this trailer? I just don't know. I have a bad feeling that this game is going to suck, BIGTIME!
The odd rotaing DS/angle used for the trailer just screams out to me that they EA is trying to hide something. The crash system looks less than spectacular and the graphics don't look much better than the DS launch title Asphalt: Urban GT (which I enjoyed, but have no need to purchase another game just like it). Though I was pleasantly surprised to hear that familiar "Burnout" soundtrack.

I've stolen LIKE KELLY ROWLAND! a bit from Play.com which is listing the game:
Gamers can also spend endless hours with the Burnout Legends suite of multiplayer options, including WiFi showdowns, customizable mini-championships and a wireless Game Share option where friends can play head-to-head.
"Game Share" sounds as if it's local play, whereas WiFi is online play.

While I'd love this game to use WFC, I don't see the WFC logo on the box art nor do I see the game listed on NintendoWifi.com. So i'd really be inclined to think that it is not going to use WFC and that they are (maybe purposefully) confusing multi-card DS to DS WiFi with Nintendo WFC. Why would either Nintendo or EA want to hide online?

I am thinking it is all local. Game Share would just be the single cart play.

I have a feeling that the lack of reviews is a bad sign. I consider the 'Burnout' series to be high profile and reviews should have been up by now. I know when a game is bad, publishers tend to not send out advance copies for review. I hope that isn't the case here, but things haven't been looking good since the trailer was released a week or two ago.

Ign gave it a 3.5, I think we can even trust Ign with a score like that.....

Without further ado, Burnout Legends first impressions:
Let's get two things out of the way first, 1. There's no online mode to be seen whatsoever 2. If you're expecting it to look as good as PSP don't bother, just spare yourself the disappointment.
With that said, as with most DS games, it's looks better in motion than it does on still screenshots. The game suprisingly runs at 60fps except during those times when there's a lot of stuff going on onscreen. Otherwise it stays respectably consistent. Motion Blur IS for better or worse in the game and doesn't affect the framerate at all. Only thing I got against it is that it makes the game screen look like it blurs like PSP. In the average race you do have 4 other opponents to race against as well as traffic. Draw distance is actually pretty good, you can see just enough ahead of you to make the decisions you need to. The D-pad is gonna take some getting used to here, but unlike NFSU2DS I don't think it's gonna make me sell it. EA-Trax are gone, in it's place are rock and techno tunes courtesy of Shin'en Multimedia's DSX which actually doesn't sound bad at all. It's a good deal better than NFSU2's music.
I'll be back with some more impressions later, but so far I think it's a keeper. I'll see if I can cover the multiplayer options by then.
Wow, a 3.5. Maybe there's something I didn't catch yet cuz it doesn't quite feel 3.5 to me, YET.
