Title: Zelda GCN Bundle?
Post by: UncleBob on September 03, 2005, 09:35:19 AM
Well, a lot of us assume that there is going to be some kind of GameCube bundle when the new Zelda game comes out... Even though most of us already have a GameCube, is there anything Nintendo could do to enrourage you to purchase a Zelda Bundle?
While it's a long shot, if they released the new Zelda game with a specially decorated GCN (and whatever pre-order bonus you're supposed to get with the game) for $100, I'd probably splurge and pick up the second GCN I've been wanting.
Second, I'd love to see a Deluxe Zelda Bundle, including a special GCN, Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, The Zelda Collection Disc, (perhaps a GCN-GBA cable) and, of course, Twilight Princess all for around $200. I think this might encourage some of those who passed on a GCN and Wind Waker before into playing (and enjoying) Wind Waker and FSA when they get their GCN for Twilight Princess (and we all know they're going to get a GCN and TP...) $200 seems to be a decent price for the bundle - Right now you can get the GCN with a $30 game for $100. $70 GCN + $30 FSA + $20 WW + $50 TP + $20 Collection Disc + $10 Link Cable = $200! Sweet!

I want a damn lid disc for a pre-order bonus. We never got any lid disc love in the US. And now that they phased out that feature we'll never see one. Asshos.

Though I'd probably be first in line for a TP themed Cube (gold, with a triforce lid emblem!), since the game is probably gonna come out so close to Revolution, you'd have to wonder if many people would even want to bother buying another cube.

I'l buy another cube (old one broke) if it black and gold zelda cube with tp. but now it more likely the going to be a zelda-rev bundle

I could use a new 'cube, since mine is under water. . .
But as a pre-order bonus I'd like to see some making of footage and the GB Zeldas. To me, that'd be enough. Plus, it could allow for a nice marketing campaign.

lets sound off: would packing in Zelda with the Revolution be a bad thing or a good thing? Or maybe if they include a voucher for %50 off Twilight Princess... actually.. now that i think of it, if someone owns a Rev/Cube, they're going to buy Zelda... so,,

"lets sound off: would packing in Zelda with the Revolution be a bad thing or a good thing? Or maybe if they include a voucher for %50 off Twilight Princess"
I think it depends when the Rev comes out. If they come out like the same day it kind of makes sense. If not no one who owns a Cube is going to wait for the Rev and then they'll get a Rev with a free game they don't need. Normally with a pack-in game you can assume the customer won't own the game because they're buying the system and previously would have no way of playing it. That's not the case here because a Cube owner could have already bought it. If Nintendo packs in a Cube game with the Rev they better allow for a lot of flexibility (like a voucher for any first party Cube game) because Cube owners are going to be a little disappointed if their free game is something they already own.
As for a Zelda bundle, well I already own a Cube so I sure as hell wouldn't buy one. Zelda's usefulness as a Cube seller is wasted now because of the delay. They might as well not waste the effort.

No no no. Don't pack Zelda in with anything. It's too late to pack it in with GameCube, and it won't show off the Revolution's revolutionary capabilities. I guess a pack-in with GameCube could do okay, but Nintendo shouldn't bother unless it will make a profit on the package.
Edit: SECOND GameCubes? Okay, obviously there are a few here who would do that, I think that's rare though, especially with Revolution backwards compatibility announced. I wouldn't do it unless the new Cube was SOLID GOLD...well, painted gold would be okay too, the point is I'm definitely not doing it for anything but a special edition of the GameCube, and I'd still think twice about a Gold Cube.

As far as a "Second" GameCube, If the deal was good (Good price, special pack-ins, or neat-o GameCube), would you be willing to get it and resale (or trade-in) your original GameCube - or perhaps donate it to a younger family member somewhere along the lines?

mmm..... I wouldn't mind a limited edition $200 [edit: $150, I meant] bundle w/ gold cube. Pack-ins with major new games are okay, provided they cost more than just the stand-alone system (see also: nintendogs).

What could they possibly offer as a pre-order incentive for this game?

It's a fact, Bill.
But...aggh, I was secretly hoping stevey pulled a P*AC on us and he would be banned. But ya know...
