Title: Iwata delivers keynote at TGS Sept 16, Rev Revealed?
Post by: Fro on July 27, 2005, 05:59:17 AM
As we all know, Nintendo wasn't going to attend the Tokyo Game Show this year.
According to Famitsu, they've changed their minds apparently and Iwata is going to be delivering the keynote speech at 11 am 9/16 (right after someone from Microsoft, ironically). Iwata will be delivering a 50-minute speech on Nintendo's "Past and Future" where they will "make clear" their strategy to avoid gaming's saturated state. This could very well be the unveiling of the revolutionary feature(s)/controller of the Revolution as TGS is the equivalent of our E3.

Mmm boy I hope so. Seems a bit far away though.

I think Iwata delivered keynotes even when Nintendo wasn't present at the TGS. And I think we saw the same kind of speculation about the DS. Everybody was like "the NEXT tradeshow! That's where they're going to unveil it!".

Killer. 2 more months? Ugh. Ah well. It's better than waiting until November when it's already too late to snag would-be 360 sales.

I would not get my hope up that Nintendo will show anything at this time.
I mean I guess it is possible, but more than likely he is just there as an industy professional talking about his views on the industry.
Talking about the past and future of Nintendo could be very vague or really specific. I expect it to be vague and talk about ideas and philosophies for the company.

Actually, judging from what they've done in the past, they'll release a few more tiny tidbits about the Rev to get fanboys chomping at the bit.
Probably more details about what the connection with the DS will yield, if that pans out... if not, more details about the downloadable games.

Hopefully some more cryptic comments, they're good at those. "The Nintendo Revolution will be the strawberry jam of the next generation of consoles."

It's an exciting pre-announcement to get everyone excited about the exciting pre-E3 announcement for the E3 announcement!

Iwata will be delivering a 50-minute speech on Nintendo's "Past and Future" where they will "make clear" their strategy to avoid gaming's saturated state Reggie needs to replace Iwata as the official speech-giver.
At least announce the release date for Zelda and price for GB Micro and I'll be happy.

Every japanese person at TGS would cower at the sight of REGGIE's mightiness. It'd be a disaster for all the game companies, when REGGIE walks the floors, taking names, everyone drops what they're doing and falls on their ass.

REGGIE must be spelled in all caps. Lesser people merely capitalize the first letter.

Maybe, The only way of knowing the revolution is coming are "quote""on""quote" "leaks" (like ds) before the storm of nintendo and REGGIE's might and I see no leaks so far.
