Title: Tingle in OoT??
Post by: Zero on February 18, 2003, 01:48:23 PM: I was just looking through the Wind Waker preview booklet that came with my OoT: Master Quest game, and when it mentions that you can buy things like bombs from Tingle, it says, "Tingle will be a familiar to gamers who have played either N64 Zelda game."

Now, my question is, where was Tingle in Ocarina? I thought his first appearence was in Majora's Mask. Am I wrong?

Post by: mouse_clicker on February 18, 2003, 01:58:01 PM: Yeah, that perplexed me as well- Tingle's first appearance was indeed in Majora's Mask and since then he's only been in Oracle of Ages and Oracles, too. I don't know why the manual claimed he was in both N64 Zeldas.

Maybe Tingle is Link, but in the future. Thats why he is so old, and has the same clothes as him....oooh, freaky.

He should be in EVERY Zelda game." So why is he is in every Zelda game made since then? Is there some sort of huge Tingle fanbase in Japan that I'm unaware of?

Anyway considering NOA's pathetic attempt to explain the timeline of Zelda on Zelda.com it doesn't surprise me to hear they got something as simple as Tingle's origin messed up. This the company that once said that Mario & Luigi were called the Mario Bros because their full names were Luigi Mario and Mario Mario. Of course I wouldn't have known of the error if you didn't tell me considering that Nintendo of Canada was so nice to NOT INCLUDE the Wind Waker preview manual with the bonus disc.
