I thought the lack of any mention at E3 all but confirmed that the game is now a Revolution title?

See the recent Miyamoto thread in the Rev section. He more or less confirms that the next Mario is going to be on the Rev.

"A response like that brings up even more questions, one of which is whether Mario 128 will ship on Nintendo's current system, the Nintendo GameCube, or the upcoming Nintendo Revolution. Asked which system the game would arrive on…
"We think we want it on Revolution." Said Miyamoto.
Not a direct confirmation, but when asked to clarify if there would be no new GameCube platform games, Miyamoto went ahead and confirmed what some have suspected.
"The Mario team can't create too many games at the same time, so they're concentrating on the Revolution."
When such a statement only strengethns the belief Mario 128 will launch with the Revolution sometime 2006, or in the months after the system's release. "
Well that not 100% think<will mario rev. on a other interview he said...
"IGNcube: Can you give us an update on Mario 128?
Shigeru Miyamoto: [Chuckles] I'm just really sorry. I think I've given people the wrong impression with Mario 128. With all the questions I'm getting about this, I really feel like I've done people a disservice. In regards to Mario 128, we're currently doing a lot of Mario experiments back in Kyoto. We are definitely going to have a new Mario for Revolution. Whether or not that's 128 or not, I can't really say. It might be a new Sunshine. We're not sure. We're doing a lot of Mario tests right now for the Revolution. "
He said mario sunshine will be the new rev. game or 128 but not both so one of them must be come out on the cube?

Nope if you read carefully their still in the concept stage they dont know if its going to be Mario 64 esque or Mario Sunshine-esque it doesnt mean that theres 2 Marios silly. Even in the paragraph it says that Mario team would be able to only work a few games and plus their now focusing on the Rev so no more traditional Mario on Gamecube.

They don't know what to do with the next Mario game, because they're trying to refresh and reinvent it.

Mario Baseball is Namco! Mario Strikers is um...that team that did Sega Soccer Slam!
From what I know, the "Mario Team" now resides at EAD's Tokyo branch (who has one title so far, the amazing Jungle Beat)...Whether this group or a new one will work/is working on Mario 128 is unknown, though it seems likely Tokyo EAD is handling the game (because the Mario Team has been quiet)

Strikers is being developed by Next Level Games - yea they did the Sega Slam one and they also made NHL Hitz series, and collaborated on a few others.

I agree with you sir. Basically he's saying that the "Mario Team" is working on the New SMB DS and also doing testing and such for mario 128/whatever mario game will be on the revolution. They don't want to try to add in another game for the cube to make life too hectic...plus, that would probably lead to shottier versions of all the games, especially if they try to rush one out for the end of the cube.

But why not make 128 for the cube and have extra stuff if you play it on the rev.? If the rev come out 3rd/4th qrt. 06 than there be no game for the cube for a whole year after zelda come out and it be easy for 360 to take over because that the only system that has game come out.

"But why not make 128 for the cube and have extra stuff if you play it on the rev.?"
Because the Cube is finished and the Rev would benefit more from an exclusive Mario game. I agree however that the Cube needs something to fill the release schedule until the Rev launch. It doesn't have to be Mario though.

To continue on Ian's post the Mario team can't magically go from concept stage to the end of development from now to early - mid 2006.

No it not in concept form what reggie said.
"IGNcube: Thanks for taking the time to sit down with us today, Reggie. Our first question is actually one that quite a few readers want to know, which is, what do you like more: kicking ass or taking names?
Reggie Fils-Aime: I definitely enjoy kicking ass more than taking names. I think the team at Nintendo would agree. I've done a lot of kicking ass. Both internally and externally. If you look at externally, we're going to sell about 2.5 million DS units, so we've kicked a lot of ass all through the holiday season and on the GameCube perspective, Resident Evil 4 kicked a lot of ass. So we're happy.
IGNcube: Nintendo previously stated that Mario 128 could be a GameCube title, and then it suggested that it might instead be for Revolution. Is Mario 128 for GameCube or Revolution?
Reggie: We're going to answer that question at E3. You know, we at Nintendo are probably waffling back and forth on what's the best thing to do. Legend of Zelda is going to be on GameCube. We're going to launch that this holiday. And there's more to come on what happens with Mario 128.
IGNcube: So we can expect to see something on Mario 128 at E3?
Reggie: Yes. In terms of how we're going to show Mario 128, though, it's likely that we'll show it in video form more than playable. We have so many great games in playable form already. "

Yeah as much as I'd love to hope otherwise, it's fairly obvious that we've been solo Marioed again.

How rude I just want to anything you might know on 128, you didn't have to attack me like if this was G4 froums.

I don't think the G4 forums have to deal with this plague known as "fake accounts" as much. Basically some senior members here believe it would be funny to get a second account and post stuff that should get both of their accounts banned within a day. The mods tolerate it because most of them think of moronic posts as "funny".

Yea, but every account they make has the same personality... You'd think they'd be a bit more creative to keep it interesting.

You mean completely lacking in coherent behavior? I agree that's pretty cliche now. I wonder if there are any double accounts here that are taken more seriously.
