Title: The Spong Game! =P
Post by: Pale on May 10, 2005, 01:26:06 PM
We all know about Spong.com.  They enjoy posting crazy news stories that someone would be crazy to believe.  Even knowing that, I find myself constantly going to their site for humor reasons.  Today, what I think is a great idea hit me.  We should have a PGC game based around Spong.  The rules are simple.

1.  You have to pick a news story you believe to be false.
2.  The story picked can't already have been proven wrong.
3.  If the story ends up truly being wrong, you get a point.
4.  If the story ends up being truthful, you lose 5 points.
5.  Multiple people can claim the same story.

Edit: I changed the rules slightly.

(I have a feeling this game is going to be a high scoring one.)

I'll get the ball rolling.

Can we just knock on them for lying about general stuff?

"UPDATE: We got hold of Sega who informed us, “Sonic plans are our most closely guarded secret at this time and there’s no ay we’re going to tell you anything about them. Especially Sonic DS. That’s extra secret.” So it’s not Sonic Rub then? “Erm, we can’t comment.”"

Is this limited to Nintendo-related bullshit only?

You know that the new model of GBA has been mentioned by many websites.
They are saying that the front runners of E3 for Nintendo this year are the GBA(w/ built in wifi & play-yan) the DS and their online plans, Zelda will have a big presence<sp> and Rev will be in video form.

but for amusement purposes I'll play along too

can I get points for calling one of their stories as most-likely true?

Does the story have to be reported on Spong, or can it be from any source?

Nope, people would just throw Something Awful stories up here that wouldn't come true if the stars fell down to earth and the sky rolled up like a scroll.

But I refuse to visit Spong.    Looks like I'm out of the game.
