Title: GBAccelerator Now Available
Post by: Jonnyboy117 on May 05, 2005, 04:13:21 PM
Change the speed of your GBA games with this unusual mod.

A few months ago, we told you about an in-development mod for the Game Boy Advance intended to boost or reduce the system's clock speed.  The GBAccelerator is now finished and available from ABHQ.com, the company that designed the chip.

Available with a do-it-yourself installation kit, a mail-in professional installation, or pre-installed on a new GBA SP, the mod affects the speed of commercially available GBA software and can be used to run more advanced GBA homebrew software specially designed for the higher speeds.  There are four speed settings available on the fly via special button combinations.

ABHQ.com has made some videos available to demonstrate the mod's effect on Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

If a device a CPU, geeks will eventually do two things to it:

1: Get Linux to run on it

2: Overclock the CPU

True. Uh, not that I'm a geek or anything, err. *Runs away to his geek hideout...*
