Title: Digital and Analog hookups only on some gamecubes?
Post by: avengence on April 28, 2005, 05:17:59 PM
Well I bought a gamecube about 4-5 months ago or so. Recently I saw a picture of a gamecube that had analog and digital out on it. I checked mine to find out I only have analog out, is there any reason for this?

Nintendo removed the digital jack off of new gamecube starting of May 2004(?) If you want one with both jacks you have to call nintendo.

You have to call Nintendo I think their deal is your trade your current gamecube to them for a refurbished gamecube with both ports.

Do note that if you do not want to go through the procedure and plan on buying a Revolution, the Revolution will support high-res on both HDTV's and computer monitors and be able to play GC games...
Other than that, you will either have to get a Panasonic Q or call Nintendo. I think they have a page about this on their website.

Also, note that this basically allows you to just use component video cables and progressive scan. Still no higher resolutions or digital audio.
