Title: Ultimate Brain/Card Games to be... Online?!
Post by: D-Mac Double on April 16, 2005, 10:50:04 PM
Source: Nintendo NSider Forums OMG (Page 2, 4th post)

Take a close look at the text at the top of each screenshot. It'll show a number, followed by players online. (But why are the numbers in the thousands? @_@)
I was pretty sceptical at first, especially with it being the NSider forums, but apparently these scans are from the same DS booklet that contained the first Metroid Pinball shots.

I don't really plan on buying either game,  but if this is for real, I find highly interesting that a 3rd party as minor as Telegames would have an online DS game in the works.

Interesting... well, Iwata did say that making games online for the DS was going to be easy (somewhat).

At first, I didn't think too much of the game, but if this is real and it is going online then that just made this title a lot more interesting.

With wireless networking, making internet playable games is going to be a pretty comming thing.  Everyone already has the adaptor, no need to buy anything but the game if you have a wireless LAN.  These are getting more and more common.

that game (to me) is a pretty good deal if they sell it at a budget price. It only works well if you have the online capability though.

I would love Ultimate Brain games.  It was a game I already wanted to get, but if its online its even better.

I love the game Go, but very few people know how to play it.  I actually am horrible at it...so a computer version with a tutorial would be nice.

Other games would just be icing on the cake for me.  And the card games could be awesome if you can play Spades, Poker, Hearts and such on the go.

June 1, 2005- Ult. Card Games

June 30, 2005 Ult. Pocket Games (????)

July 19, 2005 Ult. Brain Games

They should've just released it all as one game... : (
And it sucks that brain games is released last.

In all fairness, they are giving you like 10-15 games (all online enabled) for a fair price. THere is also the fact that some folks aren't going to care for a certain suite of games, and those who basically want it for one or two of the games (a texas hold-em addict or a Go junkie for example).
I think its a great package, and if the GBA renditions were any indication, these will be a very well produced series.

Ah, and yes the online aspect is a bit of a killer app, seeing that it may be the first online DS game, and the games themselves are pretty universally loved and enjoyed.
