Earthworm Jim was an N64 game? I didn't know it had anymore installments after the initial two on SNES and Genesis. Of your list, I'd definitely want Beetle Adventure Racing and Tetrisphere to make a comeback. I wish Sin and Punishment could just COME.

pilot wings with Gyration? I love it.

Blast Corps would have been great, also Body Harvest

And i think it is agreed that Perfect Dark is simply the greatest console FPS of it's time. Think how much it offered that Halo didn't. (little tirade: i love how Bungie didn't put any sort of simulants in multiplayer. That's merely a scam to get you to buy Xbox live.)

Ok I'm jsut going through some of the games aussie mentioned.

. Chameleon Twist - Weakest Platformer ever.

. Cruis'n (series) - Please god no.

. Earthworm Jim - Shiny games, they make Matrix now, they are in a sense dead.

. Forsaken - That was Igauna/Acclaim, they're gone.

. Gex (seriers) - Pissweak.

. GT 64 Championship Edition - I rented this one. Probably the worst video game I've ever played.

. Roadsters - Titus Games, they are pretty much gone.

. Tonic Trouble - I believe UbiSoft have dissolved the team that was behind this. And why not? It paled compared to Rayman.

. World Driver Championship - Again, the orignal developer has folded. Unlike the other racing games you mentioned, this one is completely fistworthy.

Anyway while we are talking about DMA/Rockstar North's games, how about Spacestation Silicon Valley? That game was facinating.

And yes. More Pilotwings please.

I second Buck Bumble and I third Pokemon Snap.  I'd also like to see a sequel to Mischief Makers, or preferably a different storyline with similar gameplay style.  What a wonderful game.

Pokemon Snap.  Yes I second that.

I would love a good nature game.  A game about trying to take pictures of wild animals by luring them out or exploring.  Pokemon Snap did a descent job of this, but I want to explore on foot.  I want to have more options...and perhaps have little excitement in my adventure.  I mean, why not have lions chase you because you took a picture with a flash.  Or lure two animals to fight to the death and you get pictures.  Or juggle smoking out bees to take a good picture.

The chain reaction element to Pokemon Snap was cool, but it can be used to a much greater effect if you aren't on rails.

You're kidding, right?  Quest 64 might just be the worst game I own on N64.  Ugg.  So disappointing.

Mischief Makers was awesome.  I was able to get through have of the secret ending, but I didn't collect enough gems to fully beat it.  Mischief Makers was perhaps one of my favorite sidescrolling games.  Much better than Viewtiful Joe in my opinion.

i would much rather see a lot of new games on REV.  what i liked so much about the N64 was how it had so many new games, most from RARE.
Title: RE:N64 Games like to see get updated on Revolution
Post by: ThePerm on April 18, 2005, 11:54:19 AM
actually there was somer substance to quest 64...maybe if you played it before you played oot you might have liked it...but honestly it was quite a fair game. It had a good graphics setup which displayed large countrysides and some pretty cool cities(and evewn nowadays you dont see alot of that). The biggest problem with the game was the linearity and the fact that the story was nothing special, but i liked the contorils and the gameplay. I just remember the first time i went to Limlyn...i was liek wow. The music was all midi...but it was good midi.....doooo do do dooo do doo do dodo do do doo

"And i think it is agreed that Perfect Dark is simply the greatest console FPS of it's time. "
Amen to that...

I would like to see...

Sin and Punishment
Mischief Makers
Pokemon Snap

Quest 64, didn't Europe and Japan get two different versions of this game, Japan having the closest version of a full game.  Quest 64 was empty looking b/c the game was released before
it was done.

A sequel done right would be nice...

Winback. Not that Konami would ever tarnish their beautiful, disgusting developers with a Nintendo dev kit, but I think it's the kind of game which would benefit a lot from new technology.

Rush wold also be nice, though I don't know what Midway have been doing to their development teams and I don't realy trust them to make a decent game anymore. It was a stretch back then.

I read that the JPN and EUR versions of Quest 64 where different then the US version.  Also wasn't Quest 64 in Europe called "Something" Monsters...

Oh, well learn something new everyday.

Hahahaha, I get it because you're saying it's like DS and Super Mario 64 DS came out for DS as a remake with mini-games and many people are of the opinion that not enough games have been released for DS in the past few months.  Right?  Right?  Haha, I get jokes.

They were the same. The only difference was the name. I thought I just said this? There is no monsters game on N64.

LA Rush. It's looking weak. Think SF Rush with bling bling and GTA style levels and minus fun. And Midway have always been consistantly mediocre, it's always a stretch for them to make quality.

Hybrid Heaven.  If the Revolution's display and interface are going to be what I think they are, this game would be quite fun.  Then again, it's a Konami game, so it'll be put on the Wonder Swan before the Revolution.

Top Gear Rally?? Are you mad! that was a weak game. Sega rally on an inferior console was 10 times better than that piece of trash. Hell I would take V-Rally over that in a heart beat.

Aaahh Blast Corps, the sweet combo of stunts, mayhem and destruction.

Vigilante 8 was great fun with the funcky phyisics and the cow punch, although the cars should have stuck to the road a little better.

GT 64 wasn't that bad. Just average competent game.

Cruis'n was pretty rubbish. Felt like I was playing F1 Grand prix on the NES with F1 being more fun.

I think one of the coolest sequels that nintendo could make for the revolution would Jet Force Gemini, one of the greatest games of all time.
Title: RE: N64 Games like to see get updated on Revolution
Post by: vudu on April 27, 2005, 09:20:56 AM
JFG gets way more credit than it deserves.  It was mediocre, at best.  Plus, it was a Rare game, so I'm sure Microsoft owns the rights.

Dude, your dead wrong, Jet Force Gemini, was awesome, sure the ant enemies were kinda corny, but the game itself was fun.  I liked the characters, the levels, the story, and the gameplay.  The weopons were cool and the multi-player aspect had lots of cool gamestyles and level designs.

Thats my opinion.

Quest 64 and the orginal Goeman64 were decent for there time, they both came out way before ZeldaOT and the 3D ARPG "revolution"
They both were great 3D Rpg's for the beginning for the N64 life, RABicle I dont know what your talking about..

Edit:
I think a "update" of toruk rage wars for rev would be awsome, game was awsome for mulitplayer, imagine online play

man this has brought back so many memories. damn the 64 was a good f**king console! my poor ass cube hasnt been touched in about a year. i am looking foward to RE4 though, when that finally releases here....

you've got to be joking about Ninty owning some of the old rare lisences, right? apart from DK, which i would like to see a worthy rev version of, i dont think they ended up with any others. correct me if im wrong (and i hope i am) where are your sources?

winback was a fun bloody game and I would love to see a sequel. even the multiplayer, while simplistic, was damn sweet. fogging was a bit dodgy, would do a lot better on revolution.

turok always had alot of potential but acclaim stopped caring about making quality titles after the success of the first one. what the f**k was amorines all about?! what a cash in. worst. game. ever.

jet force gemini ruled.

thats my opinion.

The US Patent Office website, mostly.

Rare was Nintendo's b*tch. Everything Rare worked on since Donkey Kong Country was either owned by "Nintendo" directly or it was owned by "Rare Limited", which was a confusingly-named paper company (or more accurately, a stack of money) owned 100% by Nintendo (not "Rareware" which was the company owned 51% by the Stampers). Even stuff like Killer Instinct was owned by Nintendo (although Rare owned the Sabrewulf character).

When Rare split from Nintendo, they purchased (or were given) select licences from Nintendo. Nintendo has been absolutely silent on the subject, but Microsoft owns Perfect Dark, and PD Zero is a supposed Xbox360 launch title, because Nintendo handed it to them. Presumably just because they liked Rare, and didn't want to crush them.

Nintendo kept all the Donkey Kong Country stuff (like Diddy Kong). Nintendo kept all the StarFox Adventures stuff (like Krystal). Diddy Kong Racing is probably screwed forever, because Nintendo owns Diddy, while Rare (therefore Microsoft) owns Conker. There are supposedly some loose games that Rare didn't want anymore, so they didn't ask for them, and Nintendo still has them (for now, at least). Like Blast Corps (which wasn't big) and JFG (which Rare supposedly said a long time ago that they intended to never make a sequel for).

Did Wonder Project J2 ever come out of Japan?  I was always very interested in the game ever since I saw a big feature for it way back when I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power.

I know its well past the point when we can trust Kemco to make a decent game, but I'd love to see SOMEBODY take a crack at Shadowgate again. Shadowgate 64 kind of sucked (a lot), but there was potential there.
