Argg. So many of those stupid people have been coming in lately with claims of "Free" DS's or whatever. Is it annoying or fun to ban them? I really like how you guys change the title of their posts. Great job!

The DS's actually are free.

It's just too much of a hassle for me to get them.

"Free" if your personal data is of no value (which I wouldn't try to argue in court, personal data, time, etc. are all values). It has enough value to keep these companies afloat so think about what you're giving away.

And as a new title for this thread I propose "People who say: NI!"

Why should people be banned for doing the same thing that the advertisements - that are plastered all over the site - do?

oH eaSY.  Cuz this site has space *set aside* for said advertisements.  And not for teh stupids.  Are teh stupids giving PGC any money?  Nope!

Generally PGC doesn't permit solicitations, advertising or any other kind of spam, especially not when it's crossposted and/or doesn't fit with the forum topic (e.g. PS2 threads in GC discussion). That "free stuff" falls under all three, they're spamming us with their threads, advertising the company behind it and soliciting for people's personal data. This "free stuff" does with people's brains what spam trojans do with their computers, reprogram them into spam zombies. And the best defense against zombies has always been the flame thrower.

I'm torn between my love of banning and the meaninglessness of it when they registered just to do that.

Should I just edit their posts into comedy?
