Post by: NWR_Karlie on March 09, 2005, 06:02:53 AM
A special event at Virgin Megastores in London Oxford Street today starred "The Bear" from Channel 4 show "Bo Selecta".

THE BEAR IS ANNOUNCED AS  THE FACE AND FUR OF NINTENDO DS

Wednesday 9 March 2005 – Today, Nintendo unveiled The Bear, of Channel 4’s Bo’Selecta!, as the face of the revolutionary new gaming console, Nintendo DS.  The Bear touched, rubbed and blew the crowd away, as he got to grips with the new handheld whilst sharing his sofa with four stunning female Nintendo fans.

The Bear was heard excitedly growling that: “This new machine is UNTOLD!!!”

With its dual screens, touch-screen technology, wireless gaming for up to 16 players, voice recognition and advanced full colour 3D graphics, fans across the UK are desperate to get their paws on it too.

Nintendo DS launches on Friday 11 March, however, five Virgin Megastores will be holding official midnight store openings on Thursday 10 March.  London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and Liverpool, will all be reopening their stores to let true fans be the first to own a Nintendo DS.

My thoughts exactly when I saw that first pic.  The girls are fine though, especially the one on the front right.

Jesus Christ that creature is disgusting.  Must be a Brit thing.
The girls are stunning, but I say the girl on the left.  Call me Hitler, but I've always had a thing for Aryan women.

Yes.  Clearly what nintendo of europe need is the kudos gained from the backing of a perv from Leeds.

Usually the bear has a celebrity read him a bedtime story of extreme pornographic content and gets an erection.
Thats the joke.

I doubt its going to shift many units to kids.  Maybe to young teens.  Probably not.

Couldn't they call Rowan Atkinson(Sp?) aka Mr.Bean? That would've been a hell of an endorsement....

NOE's PR department has some good taste at least.  I just hope this bear doesn't frighten small children, giving unpleasant association with Nintendo products...

Screw that, they should regroup the Monty Python team for endorsement, that'd be amazing.  And hilarious.

I will happyly take the three from the left. I don't like the one on the right at all.

What does this Bear do? Some weak lewd jokes couldn't possiblely be the only thing this thing does.
