Get some friends. The value increases tenfold with competitive multiplayer.

The game is so fun its not even funny. Well to me and my friends that is. I took it to work for the last 2 days and every break we had except for the beggining of lunch we played Mario Tennis. A bit of Soul Calibur also, but mostly Mario tennis.

The game is like. Really fun.
Single player gets old real fast.
But if you can get some friends from eBay, it's FUN to the MAX.

Well after getting this game the new Power Shots seemed ok at first but then quickly turned old when they started feeling like just a gimmick. What's rediculous is if you do a great, unreturnable shot on an apponent and they have a Power Shot charged up then they can return it no matter what...meaning it becomes a game of power shots.
Luckily they can be turned off and this is when you get to see how much deeper this game is from it's N64 counterpart (which I own and love). What kirby_killer_dedede said is true though, the single player is good but the multiplayer is just awsome. My advice is turning those Power Shots off and getting 2 or 4 people to play (playing with 3 can suck for various reason...).

I can argue the opposite.
Have 4-player multi with Power Shots ON, then get a long rally going and watch your opponents HOPES AND DREAMS GET SHATTERED when you're able to return what seemed to be the winning shot, thanks to the recovery power shot. Then everyone gets tempted to use their power shots consecutively. Easily, you can end up with 5min+ rallies.
Sure, power shots can extend the life of the rally (more fun with shouting obsceneties at each other). But, that makes your regular tennis much more important. Conserve your power shots, play such a good tennis game using only normal skill that it tempts/forces your opponents to waste their power shots, then finally take advantage of their vulnerability with your power shot (to show off, of course). They'll hate you.
