Hironobu Sakaguchi, the original Final Fantasy series creator and longtime Square producer, retired from SquareEnix and formed his own company "Mistwalker".
His first project has apparently been announced in Japan as a strategy RPG for the Nintendo DS.
The artwork on the game is being handled by another longtime Square veteran, Hideo Minaba, who only recently gained some fame with FF Tactics Advance and the upcoming FFXII, and has also split from SquareEnix to go freelance.

But I think they're somewhat interchangable, as in, a "battle simulation" RPG is called a "strategy" RPG.
Of course, we don't really know anything about the game either way.

Maybe I should click links before making posts. Unless it's an unorthodox dating sim, as it said you may be controlling 4 to 5 characters.

Unless you can woo that dragon, doesn't look like a dating RPG... most likely a normal or battle tactics RPG.
Speaking of which, Final Fantasy Tactics DS would be awesome.

I thought FFTA was rather boring... It's pretty cool in the beginning. But those battles never change... Everything stays the same. Maybe some better weapons, but that's it. Fire Emblem was much cooler IMO. Missions where you need to have a thief and find a key to open doors to treasure... now THAT's cool.
