EA Announces Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 27, 2005--
Selling More Than Eight Million Copies Since Its Debut in November 2004, Need For Speed Underground 2 Races onto the Nintendo DS This Spring
Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced that Need for Speed(TM) Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS(TM) (Nintendo Dual Screen) handheld game system will hit retail stores nationwide this spring. Gamers can dominate the tuner racing underground with new features and gameplay only made possible by the Nintendo DS.
"Nintendo DS is a great platform that helps us offer Need for Speed fans a new way to play games on the go," said Nick Ferguson, assistant producer, EA Canada. "Whether it's customizing your own ride, racing friends via the wireless multiplayer, or using the touch-screen nitrous controls for that extra boost, Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS really puts the power of tuner racing in the palm of your hands."
Utilizing the handheld's touch screen technology, gamers can create their own custom vinyl designs in the "Design Studio" and apply them to the car for a unique tuner racing look. Players can also manage their nitrous usage during a race by using the touch-sensitive panel to control the power of their boost. For racers looking to show off their skills and flaunt their rides, Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS supports four players via the wireless link. Now gamers can race head-to-head with friends anywhere, at anytime.
Developed in Vancouver, B.C. by EA Canada, Need for Speed Underground 2 is rated "E" for Everyone by the ESRB. For more information about the franchise, please visit www.needforspeed.com

Why oh why did EA have to be the first one to let me draw my own textures for a game? I now really want this game, just to customize a car with swear words and drawings of Mario and crap like that. Hopefully EA won't be the only dev to offer such a feature.

At first I figured this car is way to upscale to be put in NFS Underground... but then in the second they stuck in a G35 Coupe and Lexus IS (ok, so these are based on Skyline and Toyota Altezza...) but as the new Accord Coupes are a hybrid replacement of Prelude and CL this should be in the game... plus I wanna drive my car lol. Makes sense since Civic and RSX are in there... And the US Accord Coupe V6 is Honda's second fastest retail car (as fast as S2000 but less than NSX).
So yeah... The textures in the game look bad.. models need to be cleaned up. Other than that not much to say from screens... need video... hopefully full 60 fps..
So yeah.. where's my Burnout.
