Nintendo has announced a new PDA app for the DS. It will include a dictionary and translator, among other things.

I hope the translator is a vocal one - PSP has a vocal translator app, which is a pretty cool idea. I just hope if they bring it stateside they realize that Spanish and others are probably more welcome.

Oh that sounds pretty nice!! It'd be even nicer if it includes an agenda.

I've read about this app on many sites and they all say TEXT TEXT TEXT. Which means it wont be a vocal translator.

In an apparent move to demonstrate the range of uses for the Nintendo DS, Satoru Iwata President Nintendo, has recently made comments suggesting that the Japanese developer is currently working on an electronic dictionary for the handheld.
The application will enable users to translate original TEXT from a multitude of languages, and is aimed towards pupils and students; but whether or not it has any "videogame" associations is currently unknown.
Iwata-san confirmed a Japanese release in 2005; we’ll have more information soon.

Hey I will lineup for one of these.
Low power consumption PDA would be awesome. As well, imagine if they do hook it to the internet, or just allow it to communicate to other DSs.
Being able to travel and text communicate through a DS would be very convinent if the system and the program caught on.
The DS is already becoming an awesome system with tons of promise.
