Title: Super Mario 64 DS Help Thread
Post by: kirby_killer_dedede on November 25, 2004, 08:56:42 AM
Just had a quick question -

If anyone's unlocked Luigi yet, in which level do you get him?  I've got Yoshi (duh) and Mario, and I've beaten the second Bowser with 37 Power Stars.  The mirror room suggests he's in Snoman's Land, but I haven't had any luck finding him there.

Thanks!

Oh, and all other questions regarding SM64DS can be directed here.

Ok, this is my first time actually playing Mario 64.  For some odd reason, I didn't like it when I had it on the N64.  I'm having a blast with it now, however.  Now my question is, how do you get the sixth star in "Cool, Cool Mountain"?  It says "Mario's Super Wall Kick", but I don't know where to go to use it.  Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind, I've figured it out.

Alright, I need a bit of help. In Dire, Dire Docks and I think Jolly Roger Bay there is a level called through the Jet Stream. Now, how to you get through the thing? Because I have got two stars just sitting there waiting for me.

But I have another quesiton...what the hell do you do in the first stage of the clock level?

If you head upwards there should be a cage with a star in it.

Also here is alittle way to make that level easier:

When entering the clock:
On 6, it stops and starts intermittently
On 9, fast
On 12, it stops altogether
On 3, and any other time, slow

To get through the "Jet Streams", you have to use Wario and get a Power Flower to turn him into metal.  Doing so allows you to sink through the water that's pushing you up.

Thanks, looks like I am off to find Wario.

lol...yeah, I was about to reply, just got that Star an hour ago.

If you need help, to get Luigi....eh, go to Spak-Spang's Speculation thread in the DS discussion.  With Luigi, get one of those flowers and go through the mirror in the mirror room and jump into the Wario painting (stop by in the door in the mirror first, secret star in there).  It's pretty straightforward from there.

BTW, N-Fan, I knew the stuff about the clock, and I've found the cage, but this differs from the N64...it's specifically called "Luigi in the Cage" (or something of the sort), so I'm assuming I need to find a power flower to get in, just as in Into the Igloo, but I can't find any Power Flower...

The power flower is in a red box not too far above the cage I believe.

Speaking of luigi here is a tip for everyone.  Luigis backflip is the best move in the game, when you do it he sort of spins down in a helicopter type motion (think of DKs up B move in SSBM).  It is ridiculously high and goes a very long distance.  This makes a lot of stars that used to be very hard to obtain almost too easy.

Okay I have one, hope someone can help me.  In the Tall Tall mountain stage, there is a star called "5 secrets of the mountain."  I assume its like that Dry Wet land place where I have to find five specific places and get a star from that but I havent even found one of these places!  I remember getting all 120 stars from the original but I dont remember this one...

Heh.  This thread's not of much use, now that IGN has a full, free guide with pretty pictures.

Spak Spang: IT'S FREAKING IGN!
Bill: This thread owns IGN
Me: IGN, eh?  Eeexellent.

Lost101: get to the top as Mario and grap the feather and fly to the coins in the middle of the coin rings.
