Title: Nintendo DS sales forecast raised to 5 million
Post by: Mario on November 25, 2004, 04:01:33 AM

"Nintendo raised its global DS sales forecast for the fiscal year through March 2005 on Thursday to 5 million from 4 million. It had initially targeted 3.5 million in global sales."

Whoa, looks like they found a way to ship more to stores?

Nice.  What are the sale forecasts for the PSP?

I don't think Sony has set any, but it won't sell more than 500,000 by the time Nintendo DS has sold 5 million.

PSP shipments for Japan are 500,000 this year, and a few thousand for each month following i'd guess, but I don't think all those systems will sell out.

Ha...didn't Nintendo ship a million to the US?  My guess is that most of that is sold out by now.

I predict Sony will sell 1 million in that time (all in Japan of course).  I think demand is high enough.

Good news, though!  Go DS!!

Americans will probably wait for a while before buying the PSP but might change their minds about getting it when the people who got in line the night before the release tell them of all the money they spent on it. Probably a million by May.
