Title: Last Post button
Post by: foolish03 on November 17, 2004, 08:03:55 AM
Are you guys ever going to implement a last or most recent post button. Its kind of a hastle to scroll through dozens of pages just to see the responses from my post. I havent seen any forums do this. Is it difficult to do. This is something that really needs to be done. Especially for huge threads.

Its not really the greatest function to have, as it will just be filled with tons of recent posts that you ahve to scroll through anyway if the forum is at all busy. I suggest going to the 'today' page. In the lower right it shows what your most recent thread posts were and if there are any new posts in those threads.

Your not understanding me. What I mean is have a button for each individual thread that will take you to the last post you made. The button will only take you to recent posts within the thread(not the entire forum) you are viewing. Even with the todays link I still have to click the pages and scroll down to see where I last posted. Sometimes the thread can get so big that I may not remember if my last post was on the 5th page or the 10th page.

I've seen some forums do it where they have that same "Page: 1 2 3" thing like we have (when there are multiple pages), so you can pick whatever page you want, but if you click on the topic name it jumps you to the first "(NEW!)" post in that thread, no matter what page that's on.
That's the best way that I've seen.
Of course, this board probably can't do that (unless it can). It's just not in the board's possible options (unless it is).
With any luck, the next time this board gets a complete and total overhaul (if/when that ever might happen), we might get that feature. And a lot of other cool feature we probably wouldn't even expect. Like sig pics.

I hope so. It gets pretty annoying scrolling through so many posts.

I'm actually looking in to investing in a new forum script.

Would implementing this require a hefty amount of money?
