Title: Resident Evil or Devil May Cry on the GC
Post by: NIGHTWING2.5 on October 22, 2004, 12:06:19 PM
What's up gamers. Would you rather have RE or Devil May Cry games on the GC? I mean after playing Devil May Cry on my friends PS2; I was hooked. Better story line and effects. Why couldn't Capcom put that on the GC as well.?

Devil May Cry sucks, as much as I try to like it I can't get over the annoying camera angles. It's so grainy too, I can barely see where i'm supposed to jump etc. Maybe it would be a bit better on GC, but i'm turned off the game anyway, the gameplay is too... messy.

I didn't even notice it had a storyline, and RE is known for it's great storyline, are you insane?

I'd rather have the RE games on GC, and so would Capcom by the looks of things.

However I would really like Okami to see a GC release.

Devil May Cry involves the same three move swinging combo and finding keys to open doors he should be able to just cut apart with his three move swinging combo. Over and over. For five hours. Here's my $99.95 Capcom.

resident evil should have adopted devil may crys control by now.  You can do so much in devil may cry and the tank controls of resident evil have gotten old at around code veronica.  I wish they'd use that control for resident evil 4 as they are taking a more action tone with the game.  In a game where I'm constantly being surrounded by attackers, it wouldve been nice to give me full control to battle it out.  I guess thats how they create fear and despair, cuase you know if you get surrounded by alot of heads, battling out aint going to be easy, due in part to the control scheme.

No.

It wouldn't be Resident Evil if they changed the controls and made it so you could do flips over any zombie and wall jump over their heads WHILE shooting them (with TWO guns). I like the "tank" controls, it makes it more immersive and horrorish.

I disagree that the control scheme makes the resident evil game or that the controls make it more immersive.  I do wish Capcom put in a custom or control option that allowed analog control for movement.
As for the topic, I agree with Mario.  Devil May Cry is way over rated.

Erm, didn't RE4 adopt a different control style? From what I've seen it seems to play like an FPS with a slightly different perspective...

KDR, I think RE4 has basically the same controls, but it feels different because of the camera angles

BioZomboid4 is the newest member of the Metroid Prime/Goldeneye family.

From what I've read, same movement control style but an analog aiming style.

From what I've played, it's a halfway-Metroid Prime/Goldeneye control scheme, but Zombie flavored.  See, Leon's pretty good, but he's not a Super Soldier with "perfect" aiming ability while on the move (as with standard Resi games/as opposed to most FPSs), so in Shinji Mikami's Amerika they teach you to stay in place to maximize your aiming stability.  Even then, Leon still slightly deviates and it's noticeable on the laser sight at long distances.

I liked DMC 1 but DMC 2 blew hard so im still iffy on if I should try DMC 3. But RE franchise never left me down (I dont count the gun survivors or outbreak).
