Title: Another Aussie joins the board
Post by: Kaboth on September 14, 2004, 08:28:45 PM
I just bought myself a gamecube of ebay got it for $217 with res evil zero, soul calibur 2, super mario sunshine, a mem pack and a wave bird and am very happy with it. It's a pity so few people seem to appreciate the GC in Australia store shelves are relatively small and empty compared to PS2 and XBOX. Suprisingly X-box actually has the largest market share in Australia which is not the case anywhere else it seems.
Anyway I was wondering if there were any Australian Nintendo sites other than nintendo.com.au which doesn't even have forums Planet Gamecube is great, I really enjoyed reading some of those insightful editorials, it's great to be able to join International Nintendo forums rather than be denied access to nintendo.com forums. I'd really like to find some Aussie forums though where Australian nintendo fans could meet players who live in their area and organise some great multiplayer games whether it be on the classic SNES and N64 which I both own or even Gamecube or GBA. Are there many other Aussie members on these boards. Anyway I hope to be a part of many fun discussions on Planet Gamecube.

Must be only you j/k Welcome to the Aussie section. We used to have our own thread which got hijacked (twice) and they're probably still around PGC somewhere...

Hello Kaboth, PGC has two staff members from Australia, those being Aussie Ben and my self (Juan Schwartz). Also, as you can see from the Aussie Section, we have quite alot of active aussies on the forum roster, much better than any nintendo sponsored forums could ever be ^_^
Be sure to introduce your self in this thread]http://www.planetgamecube.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=18&threadid=1830[/l][/L]

Hey Kaboth! Welcome to the insanity land. =D I think there were a few Australian GameCube site thingy's with forums set up a while back, but they were kinda lame and died. There's uh, Hyperactive.com.au but that's crap, too. (PGC's the place to be, anyway )

Thanks for the warm welcome all, Gee I'm lucky I posted I was Australian or I never would have found this great forum. I'd hate to see other Australians pass by PGC not even knowing the Aussie discussion board exists.
Anyway so how long you guys been Nintendoists; I've been playing since 1996 when I got my Snes, I'm 20 now In fact I still buy games for my lowly old SNES today, just bought Killer Instinct last week. I've also got Super star wars, super mario kart, DKC2 & 3 on my SNES.
My N64 enjoyed many multiplayer sessions of PD, Mario Kart, Pokemon Stadium 2, 1080 and Goldeneye. I also have Rogue Squadron, Dk64, Lylat wars, F1 World Grand prix and top gear overdrive. The later 2 I'm planning to get rid of as I never much enjoyed them.
My biggest gripe with Nintendo is how they seem to have let the Donkey Kong franchise fall to games that I just could not enjoy. DKC2 was my favourite nintendo game of all time beside Goldeneye and PD. Dk64 while technically brilliant just lack the charm and fun of its Snes cousins and this recent trend to Donkey Kong games involving music sounds even worse. I'd love a 2D Donkey Kond Country 4. Not sure if Nintendo could retain the greatness of the original DKC games without Rare though.
Currently I'm trying to uncover the nuances of Soul Calibur 2 on my GC which is such a great a fighting game as I'm sure you all know. Sophitia is my favourite character atm. Trouble is its hard learning to play with little human competition, my brother plays but the only thing I learn from that is how to dodge a flying controller when he loses
Any of you guys live in the Illawarra or shoalhaven areas of NSW or know of any Nintendo player meets ups or something similar there? I live in Shellharbour myself.

HAha, I'm not from Australia!! Meeeeehhhhh. Oh wait, I'm outnumbered......damnit.
Welcome Kaboth, and remember, this area is secret. Its not for everyone to know of. Not even some Aussies know of this place or can get here .
You may want to move your avatar to photobucket or something similar though, tripod isn't too nice to these forums.
