Title: I am back, after days of Hurricane Frances!!!
Post by: MysticGohan24 on September 07, 2004, 08:45:18 PM
Indeed, it's been hard these last 3-4days. We we're lucky enough to get a small Generator from one of my dad's co-workers. Power just came on late lastnight. Frances did a number to most of Florida. There's derbis everywhere.
But I'm back, with power and online. Yay!
I hope the other guys/gals who faced the samething get power soon.
I just hope Hurricane Ivan stays away, but sadly the newsforecasts brings it around florida.
Must be target practice for Hurricanes or something, seeing this would mark the 3rd hurricane to hit florida ( if indeed it does )
Thought I'd let you guys know that I'm ok and still posting

All we got in Maryland was a lot of rain. I have an Aunt who lives in the Caymen Islands, so I am kind of worried about her. (for all of you who dont know where caymen is, it is near Jamaica and right in Ivans projected path)

I wish we would get more than just rain up here in Connecticut, I miss the hurricanes of the 80s and 1990s... They're fun to be out in... when they're only like 55 mph winds. I feel for the Floridians, Ivan looks bad its a category 5 with 165 mph winds...

went down to a catergory 4, but it's not a trend but rather a flaucturating of the winds. it seems to be bent on heading our way.

I happen to live in one of the "barrier islands" that are "protecting" pensacola. Which means i'm not expecting much to be there when i get home after ivan, whenever it is safe to get home.
I'm so glad i evacuated, i fear for the worst of all my friends that were stuck behind, espicially Robert (Rek) who's still stuck on the peninsula. At least the other people i know happened to be on the mainland. (And my girlfriends house at least a couple miles in)
I'm just sitting at my uncles house watching everything on his uber TV (60 inch widescreen HD) and playing my new pokemon leaf green, just about everything i own is in the 2 bags next to me (It looks like i robbed a flickerbat gamestop there's so much stuff in there) and i'm just hoping that this thing misses pensacola and that i have a large enough house to get back too.
Ivan is bad, very very bad, i'll have some before-after shots.. but it might be a few weeks, depends on when its safe to return.
I'm worried about this thing... i really really hope things go over better than the propaganda on TV is making it seem.

Majority of my friends are alright, very few that i haven't been able to contact, power is restoring at an astoundingly fast rate. I'm heading home tommorow, to a house that was (luckily) only flooded by a foot of water.
