Title: GBA SP Help needed
Post by: NES_Player on August 17, 2004, 01:28:52 PM
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a GBA SP (the classic NES version) and I have a small problem. I picked up the Hip Gear kit that comes with the headphone jack. However, when I use it, the speaker on the GBA still plays music as do the headphones.
Has anyone else experienced this or know what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Rob

Hip Gear sucks since they have a long long long line of failed products my recomendation is the obvious Nintendo SP Headphones, The adapter thats by Nintendo, or the SP Headphones made by Majesco (it bears the nintendo seal of approval).

Thanks for the reply
I found out what the problem was. After looking at the plug and checking it over with a resistance meter, I noticed one of the contact points was pushed back further than the others (on the end that you insert into the GBA). After careful manipulation of the plug, it now works fine. The speaker shuts off as it should and the headphones sound better than they did before.
You get what you pay for.
