I have to say, I'm impressed by both the main character and the sheriff's impeccable aim with those shotguns/rifles.  They've been dead-on with their shots from a fair distance away on a moving target.

Much better than the aim of fully trained marines shooting raptors. Maybe those raptors had magnetic fields that off set the bullets...

EDIT:  And that's Eight Legged Freaks.  I said it before, but I entered this movie with severely low expectations.  Let's face it, we don't exactly have a reputation for quality programming with this "show", and well...giant spiders.  That said, this was a pretty decent dark comedy with some good sight gags and a good sense of fun in general.  If I remember right, this movie didn't do fairly well in theaters, which would be a shame considering the far inferior Men in Black sequel was a hit not too long prior.

Now judging by our schedule, we now return you to our regularly scheduled crappy movies.

Spiders are making sounds and doing funny ****, like beating down people in the parking lot & and zip lining down a cable only to face plant into something.

If you find the Mother of all spiders down in your mines in a part where the methane gas is heavily concentrated, you don't light a match and you don't fire a gun


But you gotta improvise something to set off that gas as soon as you get outta there.
cut a wire to a tunnel light and then start the generator on your way out or something.
There has got to be something in the mall too.

atleast allow you some time to get away.

i actually watched this one for the most part, but i can't really think of anything clever, visually aside from some terrible goblin costumes the movie is pretty bad, so sight jokes are out. The acting is really bad though. I wonder how people find such bad actors. Its better to have people get a few minutes to remember one line and say it right and to not cut it than to keep rolling and have them waste film on bad acting.

Yeah, I watched it just now as well, and it's so bad I can't find anything funny to say about it either.  Bad effects (especially on the "Goblins"), bad acting, bad writing...the whole 9 yards.  That's why I'm calling in a Pinch Hitter: The Cinema Snob!  Take it away!

Y'know, when I was younger, I was riding a skateboard down a paved hill road. Long story short, I hit a rock and tumbled down the street scraping up my hands and knees. I got up brushed myself off and then I could take 1 of 2 paths.

1. I could go back up the hill and try again hoping to not hit a rock this time and build confidence knowing that I had finally conquered that hill
or
2. I could take that skateboard, walk it back to my house and throw it in the garage to never ride again.
