I need a 3 second trailer. Three seconds. But i want those three seconds to be so full of absolute earth shattering america-crushing win that E3 will have to be cancelled until February 2014.

Totally possible.

If those three seconds were Keifer Sutherland's Snake punching Mario followed by, "But first I'll see you in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain coming to Wii U in 2014."

So if we don't get an Eathbound or F-Zero on Wii U those characters should be removed also?

I'm not expecting to see much, though I forget how much was shown in the first glimpse of Melee and Brawl.

Melee was playable when Nintendo announced it at (I think) E3 2001. It singlehandedly sold me a Gamecube. Here's the first Brawl trailer:

That trailer was great. Perhaps, the greatest.

Still gives me goosebumps, Snake's reveal still cracks me up. Yeah it'd say it's pretty damn great.

So Melee was revealed only five months before coming out? Interesting. I don't think Smash 4 has any chance at all at being a 2013 release, so it won't be playable. Brawl's trailer is more indicative of what we might see, so it looks like we could see more than I'm expecting and have a few new characters and whatever the new gimmick is, if there is one.

You know Brawl was shown after about 7-9 months of development. This Smash will have as much as 15 months of development time before the first reveal. I honestly think a Dec release is possible. Certainly not counting on it though.

Oh wait, two games. Never mind.

If those characters(/series) get hot, new games on everything but Nintendo systems, then sure, kick 'em out of the new Smash Bros.

I understand that Battle Toads is an IP that is owned by Microsoft, but if there was one group of characters that needed to be in the next game it would be Battle Toads.

Kytim you are a fiend! Maybe they would have gone past the Super Nintendo era had their games been beatable. Only mad men and serial killers could beat those games. They don't deserve any smash status.

Why would Nintendo say they will show a trailer? Wouldn't this trailer be considered a surprise at E3? We knew they would talk about it, but having them say 'we got a trailer' takes the surprise factor away.

What could Nintendo have at E3 that's bigger than this game?
