Title: 3DS Miiverse to Launch by the End of 2013

Miiverse will be integrated into the 3DS by the end of this year, Satoru Iwata has announced in the recent Nintendo financial results briefing. While you can now access a limited version of Miiverse through the web, Nintendo plans to flesh it out specifically for the 3DS.

"This will facilitate user communication about Nintendo 3DS games and help users enjoy them more deeply", says Iwata. "At the same time, the more people that take advantage of Miiverse, the more deeply and correctly they will understand the charm of the other platform, Wii U."

If I had to guess, they're probably planning on rewriting the 3DS firmware so Miiverse is integrated into the system, rather than it be its own separate app like Swapnote.

I don't care that it's not available now, just as long as it works when it launches and integrates seamlessly with that of its console brother.

I'm sure once 3DS service starts you will be able to create Nintendo ID account from there too.

This is the biggest feature I've been waiting to come to the 3DS.. That and posting 3D vids in Swapnote, but that will likely never happen.

It's a shame it's going to take so long. The 3DS has a slew of great titles coming out throughout the year, whereas the Wii U will have less than a handful of titles before the Fall. I could imagine using the MiiVerse a ton on the 3DS, so I hope their 'end of the year' projection is just a conservative figure in case they run into issues reewriting the 3DS OS.

So I can use my Wii U Nintendo ID on my 3DS? Does that mean unified user accounts???
