This may be the most surprisingly addictive game I've ever bought. Unbelievably good Gamepad only game as well. Here are a couple of the levels I've put together over the past couple weeks. Any feedback is certainly appreciated.

An Easier Way?
0E72-0000-005F-7995
Easy/Medium difficulty "challenge room" level. Had a lot of fun tinkering with this one.

Follow That Shroom!
DBF9-0000-003A-F42E
Medium/Hard difficulty due mostly to length. Can you find the shortcut?

Phanto!
3E8F-0000-001D-7EBF
Hard difficulty with a callback to SMB2. First level made, pretty hard but tried to make it fair as well.

Good Help is Hard to Find
62C6-0000-004D-CC23
Very easy difficulty. Under rated aspect to this game for me has been the ability to create levels for my kids, who are too young to play a classic Mario game. Had a lot of fun creating levels at night, then watching them play the next day.

My wife and I have a bad habit of staying up way too late on weeknights playing Super Mario Maker. When she's half asleep and has trouble remembering the names of the various enemies, the wacky alternate names she comes up with are really amusing. For example, her new name for Piranha Plant inspired...

Cave of the Bitey Nuggets: 47C0-0000-006A-CF2A

I aimed for challenging but fun on this one. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Let me know what you think!

So I've only had time to make two levels. One was then first level I ever made and took about 5 mins, the other took a little longer. I didn't feel either were particularly difficult but they don't have very high completion rates.

First Level - Hi-jump: FAEB-0000-003F-F1BB

Koopa's Krazy Kastle: F33A-0000-0068-751A

I really a lot of the puzzles you incorporate into your levels! It's really neat, and there were a ton of times I went like "Ahhh that's clever!" in both "An Easier Way?" and "Follow That Shroom!"

However, I got about 1/3rd of the way through "Phanto!" and gave up, haha, I'm afraid I don't think I'll ever be the type of player who can handle those sorts of challenges. I got pretty far in Agent 47?, but was getting too frustrated in the spikey shell room... I'll try to come back to that because I MIGHT be able to do it if I keep trying for two hours maybe...

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed them. Phanto is definitely a little too hard for its own good, only has about a 1% completion rate, live and learn. And on Agent 47?, I probably erred on the side of being too difficult as well, hopefully that will see a few more people finish it as I enjoyed designing it. A couple new codes to add to the thread!

Hey all, I've started the next few new projects of mine, and I think I have some cool things to share.

Regarding my "World Project", I've started my Super Mario Bros. 3 edition.
1-1: --

1-2: --

1-3: --

1-4: Bullet Bill Bypass
C143-0000-005F-79E5
With this level, I was hoping to introduce a level element that I've never seen in another level before- at first glance, it feels like a typical jump-hop level, but there's a surprise ending that is hectic and crazy that I'm pretty proud of. I'll continue updating this post with more levels from that project, but I did want to start with level 1-4 and work backwards. I think the difficulty will scale better with these levels than with the Super Mario Bros. World.

However, I looked to make an appealing and lovable level next, something full of interesting Easter Eggs and such, so this is my effort.
Sunshine Remix: Bianca Hills
B676-0000-0078-DDD9
Based off the underrated Super Mario Sunshine for the GCN, this is full of nods to the level, see if you can spot them all! I tried my best to make something faithful and lovely, so I hope you all enjoy it.

Phil, both levels were great! My only comment is that towards the end when I'm scaling up, that thwomp felt a bit cheap only because I had no point of sight at all but other than that it was a lot of fun!

I've updated the Sunken Ship Surprise level. Made it slightly longer, took out the stars but added more fire flowers. The biggest change is probably the 100 second time limit. It now feels more in line with a New Super Luigi U level, with 1-up blocks replacing the big coins.

Thanks Gintami. I was hoping that starting at the top of the screen where you go down and avoid the Podoboos would allow the player to see the Thwomp waiting on the right, but one might be too focused on the Podoboos to see that. Thanks for your comments! I hope you'll check out my other levels. I definitely need to play more, as I've been addicted to making levels as I'm very interested in getting a job in game design post-graduation. :)

you know, I'd be more inclined to post my other 9 levels if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't for needing to type up all these codes. this game should really be called "Super Mario Maker: The Revenge of the Friend Code"

I might as well go down the list as to what I got goin' on. Oldest to newest, though.

Blooper's Big Day - 2108-0000-0029-F290 - an attempt to subvert the idea that the floor is a safe haven from bloopers where they cannot reach you. and then I threw pirhanna plants into the mix. probably one of my more difficult, if short levels

Ontothee Pass - C6F8-0000-002E-0B35 - Actually my first level in Super Mario maker, but I took it down and reuploaded after getting access to sub-worlds. it's a level centralized on a particular mechanic. it's maybe not the most tightly designed Super Mario Maker level, but it's something that I feel like works if you're proficient with your jumps in Mario games.

Wigglin' Wolt's Bastion - 263C-0000-0003B-A73B - This is probably the course I am most proud of. it's a course that I took a bit of inspiration from Super Mario World 2, honestly...! It's a bit of a long one, though. so be prepared for quite the ride should you want to conquer this stage! at the time of writing, this is tied for my most starred stage!

Checkerbored Hill - F87B-0000-003B-C1AE - so, I made this one as a sort of rib on what folks accuse sonic the hedgehog games of being, and it's meant to be more of a loving jab at the hold right to win gameplay then it is an actual level. little did I know I'd be making 2 more sonic themed levels...

Boolistics - 25D2-0000-005A-6624 - A delightful romp that is also themed in a similar way to Wigglin' Wolt's and OnToThee Pass. This level probably needs rebalancing to be easier, as in it's current form it's honestly a bit much.

Soda Steppe - 4D88-0000-006B-2CE2 - A level I made to primarily be easily beaten and that would feel at home as an arlier level in a mario game. it's also themed around teaching folks to slide under a block. somehow, the level still only has a 40% clear percentage.

Shy Subterrane - AF3D-0000-006D-0217 - This is a project that started as a simple sequel to Soda Steppe VERY quickly got out of hand. although not as challenging or long as Wigglin' Wolt's or Boolistics, I have yet to have someone conquer this one.

Whispy Planes - 5ACA-0000-0077-7039 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6xCAOiWIKA Play this youtube video as you play this level to enhance the effect I was going for. now with Orange TrampouRocket and Blue Cubeswitch whisps~!

Velocity is Terminal - E4B0-0000-0077-9824 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq0QE11vEWE this one was made on the same day as Whispy Planes.

Wow! Lots of great stuff in this thread! I look forward to playing more of it. I haven't really posted much around here yet but I'm always looking forward to great Mario Maker levels ever since the game has come out!

Please try my levels too! I feel that these levels could be in a Mario game in that each stage relies on a central mechanic that ramps up in difficulty as the level goes on. It is not unfair nor is it filled to the brim with enemies.  They can be challenging though! Good luck!
