A shiny New Nintendo 2DS XL has arrived to play around with. The system, which launches on July 28 in Europe and North America, offers the same features as other handhelds in the New 3DS line. Naturally, as this a Nintendo 2DS, there are no 3D effects. The New Nintendo 2DS XL sports a shiny new look, which we gladly showcase in the unboxing and pictures below!

Why oh why can't they release this form factor with a 3D display? They could even call it the 3D New 2DS XL! It would align perfectly with their philosophy of confusing hardware branding.
