OOhh, I signed that Zelda thingy a few weeks back. Just look for someone bitching by the name of Lance McGill =P

! Also, I noticed something funky today at my local Grace Bros. store in Blacktown, NSW.. You can get Happy Potter: CoS for $39.95 PLUS they chuck in a memory card 59!
Of course, I leaped on it. The lady who served me had no idea if this deal was happening anywhere else, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Harry Potter is actually a great deal better than I thought it would be!

DONE AND DONE!

Anyway, if anybody buys that N.U.D.E game for the sole reason of jacking off to it, then they're very sad indeed... I mean, c'mon.... Hentai VCD's are much cheaper! =D

His next game will feature a talking hat. You have to talk to him in order for him to collect Lego blocks and make toasted cheese sandwiches. Your overall goal will be to get your horny hat a girlfriend. Which will then result in a pink red pen to appear on screen, it'll grow with the help of milk and will be your next challenge.

Knock it over with a Tonka truck and you'll complete the game.
The game will be called "Hat-Chat", swear to God, I was talking to a friend I know, he works for Nintendo of Australia, and while doing jack squat he gave me the details.

*Waits for someone to not fully read this post and fly off the handle in a blur of 'you lie!!11'*

EDIT: Termin8, your movie sounds like good fun. I hope I see it at a local cinema soon! At least it'll be 47 million times better than the 'official' Mario movie that was released back in '93

Only problem with Metroid not being released yet, is that the Freeloader HAS, and well, I know of quite a few people (online and offline =o ) who have gotten themselves a copy from the US.

Nintendo took too long, this is what happens.

The Mario bundle is an offer Nintendo bought out late last year during the release of Mario Sunshine. You got a purple GameCube (only purple ;_; ) with Mario Sunshine and a memory card 59 for a bit more than a standard GameCube.

It would seem if you can still find a Mario bundle, you can also get the free Metroid, Re0 and so on.

Nintendo Gaming / Advice on which racer to purchase
« on: February 19, 2003, 01:31:59 PM »
Hi Dr. Nick! =P

Well, personally, I wouldn't go with NASCAR, as it has the ability to well, put people to sleep at a disturbing rate. Turning left a thousand times is about as fun as dying.

Burnout is the way to go. The controls are arcade-like, no GT3 type handling, but the damage model is fantastic. Hit a car at full force and you'll wince in pain as your car gets reduced to the size of a Lego block...

But you know what's better?
Waiting another month or so for Burnout 2. Better graphics, better crashes, better soundtrack, and a whole mode dedicated to crashing!

EDIT: Me and Gamer Donkey posted at the same time! Watch out, it's a glitch in the Matrix! Duck and cover!

Check your local newspapers. The classifieds/trading post section, that's a good way to pick up a cheap CG.
As for games, well, I don't know what you're into, but you seem to like Metroid, therefore, I recommend some of the more 'gritty' games on GameCube; Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, Eternal Darkness....

Most Expensive Computer Game Development - The Dreamcast computer game titled Shenmue cost over $20 million to develop. The project took seven years to complete, and was the brainchild of Japanese developer Yu Suzuki, head of Sega's game-development AM2 division.

*Shakes head*
Poor Sega. They tried so damn hard with Shenmue, yet the game was basically a flop on Dreamcast. It was released when the hype-train was beginning for Sony's PlayStation 2.
Then they made the wonderful sequel, and thanks to Microsoft, it was never released in the US in it's original form. So it gets ported to the Xbox, which is a death wish if you're looking for sales in Japan. Not only that, but if sales of S2 are anything to go by, the majority of Xbox gamers just are not interested in Adventure games...

Yep, BAR was released in Australia, but not for very long due to the whole "Hey let's confuse Australians and release the same game with cars they'd like!" thing that is HSV AR.

In fact, BAR is considered quite rare to the likes of EB World. I've seen mint condition pre-owned copies going for $90!

I've never played SoR3. Looks like I'll have to d/l it now for the sheer pleasure of making my ears bleed!
Seriously, is it that bad? I loved the originals soundtrack, the boss theme was one of the best things I've heard come out of the Mega Drives audio chip since Starlight Zone on Sonic!

Oh yeah, here ya go Sean;

Nintendo Gaming / Konami, come back with Snatcher!
« on: February 18, 2003, 06:30:08 PM »
Ahhh, Snatcher. One of the only good games made for the poor ol' Mega CD (Sega CD to you!)
Yes, I'd love to see a revival of this game. Then again, I'd also like to see a sequel to Road Avenger. Another Mega CD game that almost made the system seem worthwhile...

This is why we need a local release of that 3rd party controller, the one that was designed with the GBA player/2D GC games in mind. The D-Pad looked pretty much the same as the ol' SNES one (Which I consider heaven on earth)

Virtua Fighter 4 wouldn't be very pleasent via the GameCube's controller, like Sean mentioned, nobody in their right mind would want to play VF on a GBA, therefore, playing it on GC would result in the same experience. Nervous twitches, blood leaking out of their hands from that "thing" of a D-Pad... And .. So on. =P

Yep, I saw it on World News and everything. Then I had a bag of jelly beans and went "AW NO THEY'RE ALL STUCK TOGETHER!" so I wrote a letter to my next door neighbours telling them and they sent me a kitten back two years later, but that's a whole different story.

Anyway metroid, good luck in talking any casual gamer into a GameCube these days. Nothing you can say works. Telling them it's got the best first party games, you get struck with a "BUT XBOX HAS HALO AND PS2 HAS GTA!"
Tell them about the quick loading times, expect a face full of "XBOX HAS HARD DRIVE, IS GOOD!" not to mention a face full of biscuit crumbs.

Really, I don't know why casual gamers ask which is the best when they've already made up their minds due to what the TV tells them is cool.

Nintendo Gaming / Are you satisfied with your Cube at the moment?
« on: February 17, 2003, 01:32:42 PM »
At the moment, no.
Lack of PAL releases is the big reason. Nintendo's obsession with fu<king over their fans in PAL territories has left the shelves rather bare of any new releases in quite some time. It'll change soon enough though, with the likes of Metroid Prime.

But overall, I've been happy with my GC purchase. SSB:M alone was worth the price of admission.
But like yourself Ganon, I'm yet to be really blown away by a GC game, much in the same way I was with Nintendo 64 releases, but that's thanks to the slow release dates, but mainly, due to the fact that everything on N64 was stunning because it was new. Nintendo were showing us what could be done with polygon worlds and interactivity.

Now it's common to see a full blown 3D world the likes of Mario 64 and Zelda: OoT.

I do believe Nintendo will catch me off-guard with the release of Zelda:WW though, seeing this game via compressed AVI's isn't enough, I need to feel the magic first hand!

Nintendo Gaming / Tetrisphere
« on: February 17, 2003, 01:12:30 PM »
Yes, I quite enjoyed Tetrisphere, but mainly for the music. The quality of those thumping tunes was quite amazing for a catridge.
I always prefered The New Tetris for my block rotating fun on the '64.

Sean, Wetrix (I played the N64 version) was a rather funky puzzle game. It's not often you find people who actually played this gem!

I forgot what the name of the game is called. But it's something pretty suggestive. I think it's called P.O.R.N. or something.

I believe that game is called N.U.D.E
Don't ask me what it stands for, but in my opinion, it does sound like a rather original concept. Kinda like "Hey You, Pikachu" except with an actual purpose to the communication..
And I have no doubt it'll be a smash hit in it's homeland. I mean c'mon, it's where the likes of hentai (Not to mention gore hentai ;_; ) and buying panties via vending machines were born!

Nintendo Gaming / More developers drop the GCN: and so what?
« on: February 16, 2003, 03:08:01 PM »
Bah, wake me up when a decent company decides to drop GC support.
CodeMasters? Aww, boo hoo. No sloppy CM3 for us, and what's that? No Micro Machines? Which has lost the plot since V3 on PSOne?

IMO, the only good games to come from Codies in the past few years are the TOCA games and the 'Music' games on PSOne/PS2..

Here in Australia, we have Beetle Adventure Racing 1.1
This version of BAR is actually called HSV Adventure Racing, where instead of Beetles, there were Holden HSVs. Strange.

All the tracks and music and stuff were the same, only the cars were different.

Why EA thought re-releasing a game with a simple swap in cars here is one of the biggest mysteries ever!
Anyway, I quite enjoyed BAR/HSVAR, I loved the shortcuts and stuff, reminded me alot of Rush.

Pity about the music though, looping two beats isn't my idea of a pumping soundtrack...

Go get a pre-owned Dreamcast and a copy of SoA. It'd most likely work out cheaper...

Meanwhile, I have to wait six more months for an Australian release of SoA, not only that, but Dreamcast's are one of the rarest consoles ever in this country. At least you have a choice of sorts!

Alex Kidd was infact a Sega game. He was born in the arcades, then became one of Sega's main mascot's for the Master System ^^

Anyway, I'm hoping for a new Wonderboy game.... It's been over 10 years since Wonderboy III Sega! Give us a new one! *Cries*
What I'm expecting? Monkey Ball 3, or an online Daytona.

Nintendo Gaming / Burnout 2: Point of Impact
« on: February 13, 2003, 10:33:29 PM »
Simply put, BurnOut 2 is the best arcade racer I've ever laid my filthy hands on. I've had an absolute blast with it on PS2 (Plus, owning a steering wheel adds to it all ^^)

But now I've read the upcoming features for the GC and Xbox version, and I'm in love again. It now features DOUBLE the amount of Crash Zones, and more special effects (Full reflections this time around!)

When it launches on GC, I'll own it. Yep, I'll have two versions of BO2.
More levels, better graphics and the best load times of all three? Yes please.

Nintendo Gaming / What's this? A new GameCube deal in Australia?
« on: February 13, 2003, 05:32:37 PM »
Odd. After visiting a number of shops this morning, I noticed a kind of glitch in the Matrix. I was seeing the same deal blasted all over the place.

K-Mart, Target and EB World are all featuring the same offer at this point in time, a GameCube for $299 (roughly $150 US) with the choice of either SFA, Eternal Darkness, Pikmin, NBA Courtside (ooh, get excited!), Luigi's Mansion or Resident Evil.
The thing is, it's not an official poster claiming these deals, but rather small little printed flyer's near the GC section.

An un-official GameCube deal through-out numerous shops, tell your friends, people of Australia! =)

Oh yes, and Nintendo Australia have announced the free-game deal (RE 0, MP and so on) that will be going on in the US, is going to happen here. Will they advertise it? Pfft.

My job's crappy =(
I'm at this place called Hawk Packaging, and basically... I lift freakin' heavy boxes all day, or sometimes do a bit of data entry. Not what I want to do for the rest of my life, that's for sure! It pays VERY well though.

Tommorrow, I'm of to EB World, where I'll go "Hey, bitch!" and the store dude will go "Excuse me?" and I'll go "No! Ring up these GameCube games bitch!"

Then I'll go to KFC and go "Mashies? What the hell is this?"
And finally, I'll spend my remaining money on like, I dunno... One of those hats with the spinny propeller things on top. *Nods head*

but if someone (retro) could make a good football game then Cube would have a good sports market.. and EA couldnt get any of the profit..

Bah, having Retro design a Football game would be a total waste of time. If people arn't interested in sport games on GameCube as it is (And for good reason), having a quality development studio that's better suited to high profile titles spend there time making a sports game won't make a difference.

Anyway, buying out Blizzard would be fan-bloody-tastic.
