CRISIS: On Duel Earths Rules and Story
« on: June 03, 2008, 01:27:10 PM »
Crisis Mafia Rules:

This is an experimental Mafia game trying out a new idea in gameplay of Mafia.

Basically, there are going to be two mafia games running at once.  Mafia Earth Alpha and Beta.  Each Mafia will get its on voting thread, which you vote as regular per any mafia we have played before.  The person that loses that vote in that Earth will be killed.

However, several roles will effect both universes so although the games aren't 100% separate.

That said each person is given two roles.  One role for each Earth.  The object is to do whatever you can to make your team win in each Earth.  Since each Earth is playing separately your roles and motives to win in each Earth should not cancel each other out.

In Each universe there are 4 Mafia Agents, 4 Townie/Special Roles and 7 regular Townies.

The special Roles Include:

A Detective,
A Brother,
A Sister,
A Doctor,
A Killer,
A Witness,
A Bounty Hunter,
A Tough Guy

Obvously, you notice that the Townies of Each Earth will have different types of Aid...however, it is important to note many of this Roles have actions that apply cross dimensionally.

I will not be posting how these roles work...they are a secret for only the person that has the ability.
Also, I treat the lynching from the daily vote as a night action...and all night actions take place at the same time, so if an action is given that action will be done...all actions will be done.

Other than that it is Mafia as usual.  Good luck everyone.

Voting Ends Each Day at 9:00pm central Time (Texas Time)  This will give me enough time to to sort through all actions and make sure a get everything right.  Please send all night actions as soon as possible.

Scientists have been studying the hole within the Ozone layer, and it is believed there is potentially more to this whole than UV rays causing global warming and skin cancer.

Something bad is coming...a crisis for all of mankind.

More to come soon.

More information about the O-Zone Layer will be revealed at a later date.

NASA Scientists are preparing a low-orbit probe to study what appears to be a storm within the O-Zone layer.

NASA is reporting that the O-Zone storm is clearing, but it appears the hole has grown greatly in size.  It is now an estimated 10 times larger than previous estimates.  Scientists are unsure what this means for the future temperatures and weather on the planet.

Video and visual images from the probe are still being processed and researched...rumors of photo leak lead to many speculating NASA is not reporting the full findings from their probe.

More as the story develops.

Astronomers around the world are reporting what appears to be a source of coming from inside the O-Zone Hole.

The Rift continues to expand, and it appears to have doubled in size again.

Churches throughout the country and perhaps the world are preaching signs of revelation and are awaiting the great trumpet sounds...

I'm glad you said skin cancer there becaue the ozone has nothing to do with global warming.

Indeed. Last I heard, the ozone layer was almost fully repaired. Its good to see that mankind can do the right thing when threatened.

As in most science fiction stories...the science is dubious at best.

Eh, I did some quick googling and I seem to be off the mark. Maybe the guy who spoke about it (Tim Jarvis) wasn't as extreme.

**Recently our editors let an error occur in our reporting.  We would like to correct the record.**

Astronomers around the world are reporting what appears to be a source of light coming from inside the O-Zone Hole.

The Rift continues to expand, and it appears to have doubled in size again.

Churches throughout the country and perhaps the world are preaching signs of revelation and are awaiting the great trumpet sounds...

We apologies for the error, and we hope that the paper has better editting in the future.

It will be repaired, eventually. Give it a hundred years or so. Till then, keep applying the SPF 30+

Breaking News:

NASA has released video from their weather probe.  It appears the O-Zone Layer is actually a Rift of some kind, leading to what appears to be another world.

The United States has called an emergency meeting with the United Nations.

The President had declared the event a national disaster and has allocated Billions to NASA and other research teams to determine if this rift poses a threat to the Earth.

Edit:  It appears this paper is run by monkeys that can not spell or punctuate...however, it appears that the stories are surprising accurate, and strangely do have a point even though the cryptic nature makes you believe Spak-Spang has just gone insane...but then again it would not be the fun house without insanity and self depreciating humor.

On a side note, why doesn't Microsoft Internet Explorer spell check?
