Mafio - GX: Day 9. Fire Field
« on: October 12, 2006, 10:27:33 PM »
Ahhh, Day 8. That day will live in infamy, known as Death of the Doctors day. It all began with:

Jack Levin aka Svevan racing along the glitzy tracks of Casino Palace. Jack loved Casino Palace. It reminded him a lot of the fame and fortune he enjoyed as a singer. He also liked the giant statues of men holding the dollar sign. That's an interesting fact and should be recorded somewhere in his bio. Let's see. I guess it should be put after the part about being in a boy band and after the part of about his sister sending in his school photograph to get him selected to be an F-Zero pilot but before the part about him being scared of his mom. Anyways, racing along the track, Jack's mind kept racing back to an argument he had earlier. Jack had been given an honorary doctor's degree by a college he attended for a couple days. Jack felt great about it. Now, he could add to his appeal by saving racers like Dr. Robert Stewart did once in the accident that was now 6 years ago. However, he ended up getting into an argument with Dr. Stewart who said the degree did not actually give him the right to practice medicine. So, when Jack was approached by the forming members of MaxVelocity, he was eager to join and get a chance to use his medical skills. But, they figured it was wise to wait until the actual doctors were dead before announcing he could perform medicine. Especially since they forged the document. So, he waited and waited. But he couldn't take it anymore. MaxVelocity Members were dying and he wanted do to something about it. And this was his chance. So, he rammed Dr. Stewart's craft. Hopefully other racers will join my example and I'll finally be able to practice medicine, he thought. He reached down and patted the forged document he kept hidden on the floor of his racer for good luck.

Race officials were still working on prying Jack Levin's lifeless body out from under the statue that fell on to him after he crashed into it. The racers, meanwhile, were being rushed off the planet. The entire gambling community was in an uproar. This had to fixed. Every racer hit Jack Levin. This had never happened before in any race. Never before was one racer solely picked on. This was outrageous and Casino Palace was deluged with angry complaints. But the racers were unconcerned with the complaints. They knew that it was the only decision to make. You see, Jack Levin's racer has an interesting feature about it. In order to satisfy Jack Levin's huge female fan base, cameras were installed throughout the cockpit that broadcast Jack from all different angles during the races. What Jack didn’t realize was that the mole had also installed a camera before he died and it was pointed at Jack’s fake medical certificate. All the other racers saw the document. Thus it was not a surprise when some racers checked through Jack’s belongings and confirmed that Jack Levin was the MaxVelocity Mafia Doctor.

Dr. Clash aka MaryJane was disappointed. He had placed first in the race but the victory was overshadowed by the riot. So, he was doing what he loved, sitting in a chair working on how to make his F-Zero machine better. He didn’t notice the another racer enter until he spoke. “Dr. Clash, how are you?” asked the figure. “Vhat do you vant?” yelled Dr. Clash, startled by the interruption. “Oh, nothing. Just came to chat. I understand that you have 17 patents on F-Zero parts,” replied the racer. “Ya, zhat is trew,” answered Clash, not sure where this conversation was going. “I was looking through them and was surprised to see you had a patent on radios for F-Zero machines. And looking at the schematics closely, I realized that those radios are designed to send signals from in the F-Zero racer cockpit to a satellite. Dr. Clash, have you been spying on us racers?” asked the racer. “I know vhat you are zhinking but you are wrong! Ya, vhat you say iz trew but I am not doing zo because I am mafia. I am doingk it to find ze mafia!” declared Dr. Clash. “I know you aren’t mafia. I am,” replied the figure, “And I’m here to keep you from rooting me out.” Shocked, Dr. Clash got to his feet and ran to his racer, yelling “Mein Führer, I can walk!” He leapt into the racer and took off. I have chew tell ze other racers zis news, he thought. But then he heard the voice of the MaxVelocity member in the cockpit. “It may surprise you to know doctor, that I am also an inventor,” said the voice, “I hope it can equal what you have done.” At that moment, Dr. Clash’s mechanical arms began strangling him. Dr. Clash started wrestling with them. He managed to slowly pry one of his throat and the other. It became an arm wrestle. His left arm fought the left mechanical arm and his right arm fought his right mechanical arm. It went on for a minute. Then the mechanical arms got bored, reached for the steering wheel and drove the racer into oncoming traffic. At the speed he was going combined with his old age caused Dr. Clash to die on impact. His mechanical arms gave onlookers the finger before shutting down. “That’s what Dr. Clash gets for trying to be a cop,” said the MaxVelocity Member to himself.

Dr. Robert Stewart aka Dasmos was looking over his machine. There seemed to be no damage to his craft from the hit Jack Levin gave him. Even though he was satisfied with the outcome of the day’s race, he still couldn’t bring himself to smile. In fact, Dr. Robert Stewart doesn’t smile much. But in this case, it was due to the fact that he was still troubled with what was happening at the race. He had started racing after his father had died racing in the F-Zero tournaments. Dr. Stewart had pored over the details of the accident and was convinced that it was actually murder but he could not prove anything. And now, these memories were haunting him during this race. He had been shocked to learn that some racers were willing to join up with others and kill other racers to get their hands on the prize. But what bothered him the most was the fact that one person was just willing to kill other racers on his own. After what had happened to his father, Dr. Stewart was committed to stopping these people. Mulling over these thoughts, Dr. Stewart was surprised when another racer entered his garage. “Has something happened?” asked Stewart anxiously. “No one’s died lately if that’s what you’re asking. But I do have some news for you,” said the racer. “What?” asked Stewart. “I know who killed your father. It was Bio Rex. I found these documents showing his plans for sabotaging your father’s racer. It’s also mentioned in his dairy,” explained the figure, handing over the documents. “Where did you get these?” asked Stewart. “I found them searching through Bio’s stuff. You see, I’ve decided to take up Bio Rex’s hobby and I figured if I want to surpass him, I best kill a Stewart also,” declared the figure, drawing a gun and firing. “Dammit you, I’m a doctor not target practice,” stuttered Stewart falling over dead. “Actually, Dr. Stewart, you are a townie,” replied the Killer leaving.

Things were not going well for the race. With so many people dead, many planets were suffering major losses of income since people were no longer buying merchandise of the home planet’s hero because he was dead. There were more and more anti race protests. The race was scheduled to make a return to the world of White Land but they withdrew from the competition, not wanting to be involved with the debacle. Because of this, the race moved on to Fire Field instead. It was also announced that the prize would be drastically reduced for the winner of the race. It had been threatened before but never carried. Faced with evidence that there was another racer killing others, race officials finally acted on the threat. With tempers already boiling over, the heat of Fire Field only made things worse. The racers took off, just looking for someone to give them some trouble today. They realized that they didn’t have many chances left to end this disaster and no one wanted to blow it. And so, a tense atmosphere began filling the race.

Ok, what happened?

Those who died last night:

Svevan - MaxVelocity Mafia doctor (I can't believe you figured out his role.)
Dasmos - Townie
MaryJane - Cop

Alright. There are now 8 people left. Ohhh. Single digits people. Amazing. What's even more amazing is that no one needs to vote today. Every player voted yesterday. Way to go guys. But you can still vote anyways. Other than that, I don't think I have to add anything else except to tell you that the voting will end at the usual Midnight Eastern.

EDIT: This was something I should have just discussed with the townie idiot. I have and things are fine. Once again the error was more on my part. I expected the info to be given away by posts in the day thread, the townie idiot was doing it by PMing people. I never stated how the info was to be revealed, I just expected it in posts. PMing is legit way of doing it. It's just that I'm not sure if it reaches everyone that way.

Hmm, its not me. But then I guess everyone would say that wouldn't they. Ah, the confessions of a ex-Legends blackmailer. I'll wait for word from the townie alliance as to who to vote for.

What the Hell, MaryJane?  You're the worst cop in the history of the world.  When this game is over I want to know who you investigated every night and who you've been talking to because I can't figure out why they Hell you didn't come out and share what you know.  I'm pissed.  I thought for sure the cop must have been recruited.

Can you please let us know who killed Dasmos and who killed MaryJane?  (Role, not the player, obviously)

It could be an important clue.

It's an exciting day at the races today. Let's tally up the votes:

Awesome! And best of all it's all legal. Will the townies just sit back and let the mafia and killer sort things out? Will there be furious PMing today? Should I have forced everyone to vote everyday or face death? We'll know in 4 and half hours.

Its time to put my balls on the line and call this sucker.

VOTE NUCLEARSPEED

If he can give me a really good reason to not kill him, I'll remove this vote. But at this stage I see:

~ irregular voting pattern - voting the bare minimum
~ someone who I haven't dealt with much this game
~ and compared to the others in Perm's list, this one stands out

I'm confused--is Dr. Clash really Dr. Strangelove?

Well, that was the inspiration. Wneh I learned MayJane was going to die, I formed the idea that he was going to get strangled by his mechanical hands. But then that reminded me of Dr. Strangelove, so I just threw in a few references, like the accent and I can walk line.

Oh, what the heck.  I'm pretty indifferent between BFS and NuclearSpeed.  Both seem like they could be mafia.  I'll VOTE NUCLEARSPEED.  But if he isn't mafia, you guys have to help me get rid of BFS tomorrow.

Looks like I'm dieing tomorrow. That would be a waste of time for you guys, unless of course you're Mafia.

Well, only a couple of minutes left for Nuclear to offer a rebuttal. Also, it has been asked a few time so let me be clear incase anyone is wondering, the Killer must be killed for the townies to win. As long as the killer is alive, the game will continue. The reason being is that the killer's win condition is to kill everyone so he is clearly not on the townies side. Only his own.

Interesting. In case you're wondering, it's not quite over yet. There will be another day tomorrow. Yes, we will play this saturday. I'll try and have the thread up as soon as possible.
