Apparently Chris Pratt really IS getting booked for everything.

Mario Time will now start in theaters next year.

A tweet from the Nintendo regional accounts (signed by Shigeru Miyamoto) announced that the Illumination Pictures-helmed Mario animated movie would now debut in 2023. The North American release is slated for April 7, 2023 with a Japanese release following on the 28th.

The last announcement regarding the film was in last September's Nintendo Direct, which featured cast announcements including Chris Pratt as Mario, Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, and traditional Mario voice Charles Martinet in an unspecified role.

Illumination movies are **** no matter how long they're delayed, but they make tons of money off gigantic ad campaigns so everyone gives them a pass.

How dare you! Just for that, Illumination is going to make you watch this movie over and over until you admit they make the best animated films in the business! Looks like someone's going to have a long 2023.

As for me, I think I'll play it smart and just give them a pass.  8)

Illumination or not, I have low expectations. I’ll watch it though.

And the more I think about it, the less sure I am about Jack Black as Bowser. Assuming he uses his regular speaking voice, he would have made a better Wario. Someone with a more commanding voice would be better for Bowser though admittedly, I have no idea how Illumination is planning on changing these characters. In Dorkly’s old (good) videos, they gave Bowser a regal sounded voice which I really liked.
