Podcast Discussion / Episode 100 - FAMICREW, OUT
« on: March 28, 2017, 02:15:00 AM »

For one last time, we ask that you "please understand."

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44370/episode-100-famicrew-out

The monumental day has arrived. Some said would never happen. Some said we should have given up long ago. Some said “What’s the Famicast?” That’s right, it’s our hundredth episode!

The show starts as usual with New Business. Danny and James’ talk about their experiences with the Switch while Sairus and Ty go a little older school to Mischief Makers and the Japan only Ace Attorney Investigations 2.

The episode’s covers all the latest Switch info and releases, from Fast RMX’s upcoming updates to Secret of Mana Trilogy’s surprise announcement. The 3DS is not forgotten with both BoxBoy and Monster Hunter XX getting some updates too!

For our milestone episode we all take a look back at the six years it took to get here, including special guest appearances from former Famicast members Minoru and Matt. As this was a live episode we also invited listeners on to the show for a bit of a chat!

The final big news dropped on this show is both sad and exciting. After much discussion amongst the Famicrew, we have decided that this is the final episode of the Famicast...on Nintendo World Report anyway. Tune into the show for information on our future going forward!

From everyone at the Famicast, a sincere thank you to everyone who’s listened over the years and helped us get this far. Of course, a super big thank you to Nintendo World Report and Radio Free Nintendo who made this whole silly podcast possible!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 99 - HAPPY HAPPY JOY CON
« on: March 11, 2017, 12:08:00 AM »

Switch all day every day.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44286/episode-99-happy-happy-joy-con

It may shock you to learn this, but Nintendo released a new console recently! I know, it was news to us too, but Danny did his due diligence and picked up the Switch and a few games.

This episode of the Famicast is a much more focused affair as James and Sairus talk with Danny about his early impressions with the Switch, along with any other news that’s sprung up around the new console recently. We try to cover a bit of everything from launch lineups, to hardware and software failures, to region locking. The latter of those is of particular interest to those of us in Japan!

A small reminder too: Our next episode will be The Big One - our hundredth episode! We’re hoping to get some our listeners to join in on the event, so if you can make it on the 26th of March, 2017 at 9:30pm (Japan time) make sure you send us a tweet @thefamicast and we will get you on the guest list!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 98 - HOT BLOODED LEAKS
« on: February 24, 2017, 12:48:03 PM »

Join the Famicast as we take a look at gaming life in Japan in February’s special live episode!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44140/episode-98-hot-blooded-leaks

Yup. It's that time of month again. Live Famicast in your face!

For New Business, Danny steeps himself in N64 nostalgia with 1080 and Ocarina of Time (3D), Ty finds a surprise gem in Crypt of the Necrodancer, Sairus cleans his plate with Phoenix Wright and Pokken while James nears completion of Yoshi’s Woolly World. I don’t think anyone expected James to be the last man still playing Pokémon GO, but he (and his son) also check in on its recent updates!

It’s just over a week until the Switch finally launches and the news continues to roll out. Between official announcements, leaks and stuff just showing up in stores, there’s plenty to discuss. I am confident that the Famicast is the only podcast in the world giving their thoughts on the Zelda season pass, so be sure to check that out! Fire Emblem Heroes and Pokémon GO are also still in the spotlight with both receiving hefty updates. For more local Japan news, Sairus checks in with Pokken Tournament’s recent arcade patch.

In a special Life in Japan segment, we all get wet and naked as we dive into the wild world of sentō and onsen, Japan’s famous public bath houses. Being such a staple of Japanese life, these pop up in games in all formats quite frequently - can you think of any baths from games you’ve played? Let us know in the comments!

Finally, the big 100th episode of the Famicast is fast approaching, and we want you to get involved! Listen in at the end of the episode for information on how to get your voice heard on that special live episode coming soon!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 97 - YOU ONLY DIE THRICE
« on: February 12, 2017, 06:44:43 PM »

We are the Famicast Heroes?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44105/episode-97-you-only-die-thrice

The Famicast Heroes are back to give you all the latest and greatest news and discussion from Japan!

In New Business, most of the crew try out Nintendo’s latest entry into the mobile market with Fire Emblem Heroes. Danny and James also say Sayonara to Box Boy, Ty dicks around in Conan: Exiles and Sairus apparently doesn’t object to a little Phoenix Wright.

With less than a month until the Switch’s release, news continues to trickle out, from the tentative pricing on its online capabilities to the possibility of VR on the Switch. There’s also a pretty heated discussion about Splatoon 2 and how similar it appears to its predecessor.

Ty blesses us once again with another segment of Fake or Real to round out the show.. Or does he? Maybe this show description is all fake. You’ll have to tune in to find out!

Although Sairus has recovered from his death in the last show, his microphone apparently had not fully recovered at the time of recording. Apologies for the occasionals audio hiccups on his end!

Be sure to send in comments, questions or complaints to us via email (famicast@nintendoworldreport.com), on Twitter (@thefamicast) or sound off in the Talkback thread below!

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 96 - METHOD MEN
« on: February 01, 2017, 07:57:22 AM »
Yeah, guess you'll just have to get a card off Amazon or whatever.

Also, since my last post, it occurred to me to actually do some region lock testing on X360 games on XBone, and it turns out XBone straight up bypasses X360 disc and IP lock as long as it's on the reverse compatibility list!

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 96 - METHOD MEN
« on: February 01, 2017, 05:45:54 AM »
Yeah, no. I guess when I said "access" it was a little ambiguous. I've spent way too much time sperging out about XBox regions on prior episodes, so let me clarify. Effortpost incoming!

On old X360, -some- games are region locked (about half of all titles) and you'll need an account/console/IP for that region. If you want, say, a non-region locked game from a different region, here's what you gotta do:

Make an account for that region. This is easy, do it through your web browser first though. (You can at least "access" the store at this step, meaning, just looking)
Add funds to that account (gift card code, or a credit card, billing address will be a hurdle though) -or- a download code for the game
Download that ****. It won't stall your download if it's not a region locked game.

If the game you want IS region locked, you're gonna need to do that stuff plus have a console and IP address for that region.

Now, accounts aren't region locked, insofar that you can load your profile and play on any system from any country on any IP address. If you try to download games you've already bought when you move overseas or the monthly freebies on games with gold, it will stop you or not stop you on a per-game basis. My NA account is well loaded with achievements from regionlocked JP games!

Now, on XBONE games and apps, there are basically no restrictions (unless, of course, you're downloading reverse-compatible X360 games, then see above not even on X360 games). You don't need a console from a specific region or a certain IP address, you can download any and all **** that's been added to your account. I've downloaded like a hundred NA region games on my JP IP address, put in JP DLC codes on my US region account+console, bought a bunch of JP physical copies. The system simply does not give a ****. Puyo Puyo Tetris, the uh, sole JP XBone exclusive isn't on games on demand for some reason, so I can't test purchasing it, but I just accessed the JP store and downloaded a Japan-exclusive app (カラオケ@DAM) and it worked fine.

So yeah, X360 is half-region locked, XBONE is region free. Accounts are global, but the X360 games on them my not be.

Method gaming is real.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44054/episode-96-method-men

The Famicast is down a member this episode (RIP Sairus), but Danny, JC and Ty make things work and press on to bring you the latest and greatest from Japan.

Per usual, the show kicks off with New Business as the guys talk about Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (and discuss how Ty has a connection to the game), Axiom Verge, Yoshi’s Woolly World, GTA V, anime boob games and how method gaming is indeed real.

For this episode, the crew also tackle a heap of news ranging from the latest Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct, Pokémon Go revenue, all of the latest Switch related news and much more. Shortly after, JC presents us with some Switch related quotes from all over the industry. Is Reggie nearly as bad as JC thinks? You be the judge, jury and/or executioner.

As always, thanks for listening to the show! If you have any comments or questions, be sure to sound off in the Talkback below, hit us up on Twitter (@thefamicast) or send an email to famicast@nintendoworldreport.com. Podcast Discussion / Episode 95 - STIFFNESS AT SWITCHMAS
« on: January 15, 2017, 11:41:00 PM »

The crew chimes in on the Switch presentation and then gives their hands-on impressions of the latest Nintendo hardware directly from Tokyo Big Sight!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/44005/episode-95-stiffness-at-switchmas

The Famicast is back with their first episode of 2017 with an episode focusing entirely on the Nintendo Switch! In the first half of the show, recorded just a few hours after the Switch presentation on January 13, the guys delve into the deluge of news giving their thoughts on almost everything that came out of the event and then some!

For the second half of the show, Danny, James and Ty attend a Switch event at Tokyo Big Sight and get hands on time with a select few Switch titles. With it being a public event, the guys unfortunately couldn't go hands on with the likes of Zelda, Splatoon 2 and a few other big titles (for reasons explained in this part of the show), they had a chance to try out the system in a few different configurations. (*note* Due to being recorded live via YouTube Live via a cellular connection, there are a few audio issues with this part of the show. Please understand!)

Are you excited about the Switch? What do you think about the current game lineup and starting price? Hit us up with your comments or questions via email (famicast@nintendoworldreport.com), on Twitter (@thefamicast), YouTube comments or the Talkback thread below! For video content, be sure to check out our coverage of the event in the videos below! Here's to 2017!

« on: December 27, 2016, 01:45:54 AM »

Here is your bumper edition of the Famicast to last you until the new year!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43826/episode-94-this-is-vinal-tap

It’s time to try and put the mess that was 2016 behind us, and what better way than with an extra long episode of the Famicast!

New Business starts us off with a typically varied spread. Danny plays noted train/god dating simulator Megami Meguri, James continues his love/hate relationship with Nintendo mobile games, Ty technically plays a Wii U game with Shantae and Sairus aggressively cleans up his unfinished 3DS library.

For news, we delve into the latest Switch details and rumors - Gamecube Virtual Console games? Detailed Switch specs? The first Switch exclusive game? There’s plenty to talk about!

It wouldn’t be an end of year show without a look back at our playlists for the year. We all check our play times on our various Nintendo systems for 2016 and compare our leading games. Let us know in the comments what your top played games this year were too!

Since it’s Christmas, the Famicrew are also giving out a bunch of amiibo presents this year! For your first chance, simply head over to twitter, follow the @thefamicast and Retweet this tweet for a chance to enter. Your second chance is in the show itself! Tune in to hear our listener question, then email your answer to famicast@nintendoworldreport.com. Send your answer in by January 6 for your chance to win!

Finally, James is also back with another Famicast quiz - this time talking about console launches throughout the ages. As always, you at home can join in by going here.

As a bonus, tune into the after show for a round table as most of the Famicrew talk about the recently released Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Does it have anything to do with Nintendo? ...well no, but we’re all Star Wars nerds and you probably are too, so we hope you enjoy!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 93 - WE WOOD LIKE TO PLAY
« on: December 09, 2016, 12:27:04 PM »

The Famicast wouldn't be complete without some in depth talk about cricket...right?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43768/episode-93-we-wood-like-to-play

Sairus is AWOL this week, but to pick up the slack there’s twice as much James as usual! James Winovich joins the Famicrew as a special guest from the ALT Insider Podcast to keep things fresh and bring you the latest from all things Nintendo in Japan!

New Business is standard fare as Ty plays some cricket on the Super Nintendo. James Charlton talks about his time with Axiom Verge, Danny goes old school with Super Punch Out and James W. talks about his recent experiences playing Rocket League and a Skyrim hyper mod on PC.

For news in general the crew weighs in on the absolutely crushing Pokemon Sun and Moon sales which continue to break records all over the world as well as new details from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its various amiibo. A trickle of new pledges for Switch launch games also get a look at, including the news that Stardew Valley is canceling their Wi iU edition in favor of the newer console. All this and much more!

To round out the show, the guys dive into another game of Fake or Real courtesy of Ty. Play along and let us know how you did! We finish up the show with your comments, tweets and emails.  As always, if you wants your questions, comments or complaints read out on the air, feel free to shoot us an email (famicast@nintendoworldreport.com), hit us up on Twitter (@thefamicast) or leave a comment in the Talkback below!

« on: November 27, 2016, 12:00:00 AM »

Anime and burger-men are real in the latest from The Famicast.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43705/episode-92-burger-tyme

The Famicrew is back for another live episode straight from the heart of Japan!

Per usual (minus Ty showing off his real anime/burger form), the guys start the show with New Business touching on the likes of Resident Evil 0 and Re-REmake, the Famicom Mini, Bases Loaded 2016, Mario Kart 7 and more.

As the launch to the Switch creeps ever closer, rumors and snippits of actual confirmed news have continued to spring up like weeds. In this special live video episode, the Famicrew step in like good gardeners to…sit around and talk about what they think of them I guess.

Current news stories like the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, along with a slew of Virtual Console releases also get discussed before a long overdue return to the recent Sales Charts in Japan. After that, James runs another quiz this episode, and all you listening at home can join in! How well do you think you know your video game music, and how do you stack up against the Famicrew? Simply go to this link and let the guys know how you do!

Also, be sure to stick around for a special bonus discussion with James Jones about his time in Japan! As always, be sure to leave any comments, questions or complaints in the Talkback below, hit us up on Twitter (@thefamicast) or send us an email at famicast@nintendoworldreport.com.

Rumors and other details swirling around the Switch get the Famicrew talking!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43657/episode-91-zombiitopia

From minor issues like memory card sizes to vital(?) features like a projector built into the Switch itself, this is a ripe topic for discussion, so the Famicrew gets stuck in!

Of course, the other staple Famicast segments return, starting with what we’ve been playing recently in New Business. We also cover the few pieces of Nintendo news for the month before diving into some listener feedback. Finally, in a feature we plan to revisit, we take a look at Famitsu’s Most Wanted. « on: October 26, 2016, 09:35:53 PM »

Watch as we obsessively comb over every detail of the Switch reveal trailer!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43576/episode-90-back-my-switch-up

Some of you may have heard that Nintendo revealed a new console recently. Believe it or not, this Nintendo focused podcast will be spending an episode talking about it! We were so excited we even did it live!

Obviously this is a pretty big topic, so we’ve tried to break the show down into pretty clear sections to keep our discussion on track. The first stop is taking a good look at the console itself, with special attention to how Nintendo is as usual making this console with some very Japanese values in mind. No Nintendo system would be complete without some bonkers controllers, so the Joy-Cons plus their various configurations and other accessories are up next, followed by a look at the games that have been revealed and announced so far. Finally we talk about what we see for the future of the device, be it games, pricing or release windows. We also bookend each of these sections with a special focus on what the features mean for a Japanese audience, so there’s plenty of interest to check out!

As always, if you guys have any comments, questions or complaints, be sure to sound off in the talkback below, email us at famicast@nintendoworldreport.com, or hit us up on Twitter @thefamicast! Thanks for your support!

An all-star Famicast brings you the latest on the Famicom Mini and breaking into the Japanese movie industry!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43522/episode-89-extra-blue-power-balls

The Famicast is back to full strength this week to discuss all things Japan and Nintendo! As usual there’s a lot of ground covered in New Business, with James covering platformers, Ty reaching terrifying heights with achievement hunting, Danny trying out the Monster Hunter Stories demo and Sairus risks serious hand injuries playing Theatrhythm Final Fantasy in arcades. And of course we also have you covered for a discussion on Power Rangers and other Super Sentai franchises in Japan!

The Famicom Mini has also started rolling out around the world, so discussion turns to Nintendo emulation, the eShop and how this device stacks up. There’s also a sampling of Pokémon news hot off the presses!

The show wraps up with a rapid fire Fake or Real, plus a special segment as Ty talks about his recent flirtations with stardom as an extra in an upcoming movie. Could this be his big break? Tune in to find out!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 87 - A REAL PEACH
« on: September 09, 2016, 11:25:52 PM »

Coming to directly to you.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43379/episode-87-a-real-peach

The Famicast returns hot on the heels of the Great 3DS Nintendo Direct of ’16! *note* The episode was recorded before the unveiling of Super Mario Run on iOS.

Obviously the massive number of games and other news tidbits dropped in the Direct take center stage during this show, so strap in for a pretty intense look at the future of the handheld. While most of you are probably aware, the Japanese and English language Nintendo Directs tend to be a little different from each other so we’ve made sure to cover all the Japanese exclusive stuff that might have slipped past you!

We follow up that news blowout with a quick look at what the Famicrew have all been playing these last few weeks, which is an eclectic mix as usual with RPGs, shooters, fighters, MOBAs and platformers all getting some love.

Finally Ty closes out the show with another Fake or Real quiz show! As always our listeners can join in and play along with us – Be sure to leave us a comment with how well you fared!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 86 - THE ZELDA OLYMPICS
« on: August 25, 2016, 02:43:00 AM »

No real Nintendo news on your various websites? Who cares! The Famicrew are always here to keep you entertained in another Live show!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43237/episode-86-the-zelda-olympics

As usual we kick off with a look at our pretty eclectic lists recently played games. James puts more time into getting Another Metroid 2 Remake to run on his Mac than actually playing it, Danny explores the galaxy in No Man’s Sky, Ty delves deep into his inner psychosis and Xbox library with Silent Hill 2 while Sairus tries out the Skullgirls Mobile beta.

Moving swiftly on we cover the scant news this week with some Dragon Quest NX “details” and the Prime Minister of Japan’s wacky appearance at the Rio Olympics. That leads nicely into a later segment of Life in Japan and reader feedback as we answer mail about how Japan is gearing up for the Olympics in 2020.

In a special segment, James hosts the inaugural interactive Famicast quiz! Those that caught the show as it was recorded live were actually able to join the online quiz as it happened, but feel free to tally up the score on your own to play along while you listen! Let us know how you did in the comments!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 85 - TAKE IT BACK
« on: August 10, 2016, 05:09:00 AM »

The Famicrew joins the Japanese public and gets nostalgic.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43147/episode-85-take-it-back

The Famicrew is back to full strength as James and Sairus return from places unknown just in time to save the Famicast from whatever Danny and Ty got up to in the last episode.

As usual we start the show with a look at what we’ve been playing recently, and this week it’s been a spread of the classics ranging from Metroids to Zeldas to Starfoxes before diving into Ty’s terrifying Xbox backlog. Danny also gives his impressions of the Dragon Quest Live Spectacle Tour, a stage event celebrating the 30th anniversary of Dragon Quest.

In current news there was a smorgasbord of Nintendo treats to choose from, starting with the recent and impending openings of Kirby Cafés across Japan, leading to Pokémon Sun and Moon trying to cash in on that Yo-kai Watch technology and also checking in with the fan made Another Metroid 2 Remake’s launch alongside Metroid’s 30th anniversary.

Before checking out some listener mail and feedback, James takes us down memory lane with a special feature quiz on what we all think are the most "natsukashi" or nostalgic games from Japanese history. Some of our ideas differ quite substantially on what the Japanese public at large thought, so play along at home and see if you fair better than us!

Another reminder, friends of the Famicast, the Nickscast, are going to be part of the upcoming event, The Race Against Time, a 24 hour charity streaming event raising money for Alzheimer's research. It starts on August 13 at 10 am (ET) so be there! For more info, be sure to check out their website here!

Also, be sure to stick around after the show for a special short life in Japan segment with Danny and Josh all about the concert scene here in Japan. Enjoy the episode!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 84 - POKÉ BLINDERS
« on: July 28, 2016, 06:59:00 PM »

The guys return to talk about Go, fight/shoot-man games, free-to-play on 3DS and a whole lot more!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43100/episode-84-poke-blinders

Down a Sairus, Danny, James and Ty press on to bring you another episode of the show to fill that summertime lull in gaming.

New Business touches on a number of different titles this time around, as James talks about Metroid Blast Ball that was recently released on 3DS with a little bit of help from Danny. James even, for perhaps the first time in his life, plays through Citizens of Earth, his first RPG ever (maybe…thanks NOE!). After that, the guys break down the recent Japanese releases of Pokémon Go and their experiences catching all dem Pokémanz. Danny continues New Business with some closing thoughts on Shovel Knight for 3DS and also talks about the OTHER hawt free-to-play game, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters: Saikyo no Card Battle! Get hyped (?)! Outside of the usual fight-man genre, Ty takes another dip into a shoot-man game with Wolfenstein: The New Order.

A family emergency unfortunately pulled James away for the majority of the episode, however he does make it back in for a Super Splat Hour after Danny and Ty discuss the latest news from Japan. *note* Since the podcast was recorded on Monday, July 25, the guys missed out on the latest rumors on the NX and all of the Level 5 news that came out this week. Doh!

Also, a bit of a PSA about a cool event coming up that you should definitely check out. Famicast fan Nick Z. is going to be hosting an event on August 13 called The Race Against Time, a 24 hour charity livestream that is raising money for Alzheimer's research. Nick and his buddies from the Nickscast will be playing through Chrono Trigger trying to unlock all of the endings the game has to offer. Mark it on your calendar! For more information, be sure to check them out on Facebook here and stay locked to the Famicast Twitter account (here) for upcoming information!

Set back, grab a cold one, and don’t walk around blindly looking for those rascally Pokémon! Stay safe, fresh and cool ladies and gents!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 83 - FRESH PULLMAN
« on: July 08, 2016, 10:44:00 PM »

Shovels, a dash of vegemite and NX talk are all mixed in for some Famicast summer fun!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/42984/episode-83-fresh-pullman

Gather round, children, for more exciting tales of all things Nintendo as your four (five) intrepid gaikokujin bring you the latest on the ground coverage from Japan!

For New Business, Danny finally delves into the modern classic Shovel Knight and two mystery Gamecube… classics(?), while Ty digs up trash/good deals on Xbox Live. Sairus sticks with the shovel theme with Link’s Awakening and James continues the fight in Super Meat Boy and Watch Dogs. He also unexpectedly shows off his programming prowess with Smile Basic on 3DS.

It was a comparatively light news week this time round as the world collectively held its breath for Pokémon GO’s release. However, we still bring you the latest on the return of the Zelda Symphony concert in Japan, an official Uniqlo x Nintendo design competition, leaks of the remaining DLC characters for Hyrule Warriors and growing Callie and Marie fever as Splatoon marches towards its final Splatfest.

We also have a special crossover guest segment as Nick Bray, NWR’s Australian correspondent and host of Connectivity, joins us while on a trip to Japan.

Although we glossed over it last time, this year’s E3 was quite heavy on console developers moving into iterative versions of their consoles with the Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Neo. Nintendo already has a history of this type of console upgrades, particularly recently with the extensive 3DS family of systems. In a mini feature we talk about how Nintendo might embrace this further with the upcoming NX and if we agree with this style of release. Where do you stand on this topic?

Finally, as always we take a look at some of the feedback you lovely folks have left us. Enjoy the episode!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 82 - TIME TO SHRINE
« on: June 18, 2016, 02:37:00 AM »

The Japan crew gives you their thoughts on Zelda, Box Boy naming conventions, Chex Quest, San Francisco Rush and more on this E3 centric episode!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/42886/episode-82-time-to-shrine

It's the time of year again, folks. E3! Christmas in June...with only promises of presents at a later time. It all works out in the end, though, right? At any rate, although Nintendo promised not to bring much to the show, there were some pleasant surprises that the guys cover throughout the episode!

First off, the Famicrew discuss The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! The guys break down the trailer, the footage and everything (maybe?) that you could possibly think of! After that lengthy discussion, the guys move on to talk about Ever Oasis, BoXbox Boy, Yo-kai Watch, Pokémon and the other titles that Nintendo showed off at the show. The best of Nontendo (through the eyes of The Famicast, at least) are also discussed here after a brief Splatoon update from JC.

How do Chex Quest and San Francisco Rush fit in to all of this? You'll have to tune in to find out! E3 a-go-go, baby!

I don't believe I was the perpetrator of the Denny's goatse, but I was probably complicit. I can't really recall. I'm gonna try to piece this together with some other folks.

The guys lay down a heavy New Biz related show with a dab of news before E3.

The Famicrew is back this month for the latest and greatest from Japan! This time with a show focusing mainly on New Business before Nintendo blows our socks off at E3 (?).

New Business has the guys talking about a variety of games per usual. Ty gives us an update on the latest comings and goings of Killer Instinct, and then teams up with Sairus to dish out some more impressions of Overwatch. Splatoon comparisons ensue. Sarius also picks up Pokémon Picross and talks about the acquiring the talent of walking while gaming on 3DS. Try not to cause any more accidents, Sai!

Danny shares his thoughts on a British developed baseball game for the SNES from twenty years ago. Can you guess what it is? James finishes things off with more thoughts on Super Meat Boy and Watch Dogs. Is he going to call it quits on these two? Maybe...

Finally, after a brief bit of news, JC comes back with a Mario Maker Minute and Super Splat Hour. The show is brought to a close with your feedback! If you want to drop us some questions, drop us an email at famicast@nintendoworldreport.com, tweet at us on Twitter @thefamicast or sound off in the comments below! Enjoy E3, and we'll be back to give you our thoughts!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 80 - SUPER NIKU BOYS

The guys are here to show you the clear connections between bloody slabs of meat, CGI scorpion kings, teddy bears and Mario Maker...True or false?

It’s Live Famicast time! It’s that special time once a month where you get to choose between just listening to the Famicrew talk about games and life in Japan, or watching them on video! It’s so real it’s almost like you’re there with them, too! So lucky!

New Business is a bit of a smorgasbord this episode with everyone dabbling in a bit of everything. Sairus dips his toes in Splatoon and Megaman X3 while Danny cashes in some Platinum Points on the Culdcept Revolt demo (Japan only). James checks in with Mario Maker, Watch Dogs and Super Meat Boy while Ty polishes off DOOM and Catherine, and as always touches base with Killer Instinct.

You know it’s a pretty slow news week when discussion of the recent announcement of Kuma Tomo (Teddy Together) getting a Western release is a highlight, but we still find some juicy tidbits to discuss. Datamining has revealed the Squid Sisters costumes waiting to be unlocked in Mario Maker, which leads Sairus to talk about his recent trip to Splaket 5, a Splatoon doujin* event in Tokyo where kids and squids could buy and sell fanmade Splatoon goods.

Meanwhile in charts, this week marks the sort of rare occasion when a Western produced game debuts at number one. Can you guess which one? On such an auspicious day, could this also finally be the week that the console charts actually change their long standing positions? Spoiler: No. No it isn’t.

Finally, before checking out our faithful listeners’ mail we have the triumphant return of Fake or Real, complete with guest contestant! Tune in for details on how you too can possibly enter this climactic battle of wits!

*Translator’s note: doujin is a blanket term that covers “people with the same interests” and “self published art, comics, etc”. There’ll be a quiz on all the non-English words you learned in this week’s episode.
